Another great video! One thing to remember is that 90% of the stuff we buy is from China! I was at a factory here in Los Angeles for work that makes nothing but men's ties. They are ALL THE SAME and the same material........ with different labels. So you can spend $300 for a name brand tie or 12 from target..... same tie. Same goes for the knock off stuff for the most part. I use cheap Chinese wheels that I would put up against any high end ones I have used! And as far as glasses, I use cheap $8 Puggs from the gas station. Best glasses i have LOL. Awesome video.

Thanks for taking about the lens switching. I commute and I change lenses up to twice a day. Also, you should try the polarized lenses, they cut down on glare a lot.

They do, it’s a natural property of the plastic.

Cause the so called real one's are the same as the black one's! There should be a triangle 🔺️ rubber instamped Assembled in USA on the right hand leg which these white abd bkack do not have either so could be why they feel cheaper like the knockoffs I can show you my genuine ones with this then frame is stamped there's just nothing on them white ones in the inside at the right lens in-between whare the lens and the leg is the stamps missing so personally think the whites are koffs aswell!

That's quite a simplistic view. For the 242$ you also get a warranty, design, R&D, lens that you know is good for your eyes and that will give you the best view while you are descending at 40mph, piece of mind that if you crash the lens will not cut out your eyes i.e. proper testing behind the product, workers who get a decent salary, taxes that were paid, no child labor or at least less child labor etc etc etc.

The reason you are paying $242 is because the Italian eyeglass behemoth Luxotica forced Oakley to sell and be absorbed by them so that they can monopolize not only nearly every "designer" eyeglass sold in the U.S. but also the major sport eyeglass sales. Luxotica now owns not only most eyeglass brands but most eyeglass retail outlets such as Pearl Vision and Lenscrafters and Sunglass Hut, and even eye insurance programs. With no competition they are able to set absurd prices. And they do. Those glasses you paid $242 for probably cost $15 to make - and they were made in the same Chinese factory as the knockoffs. I urge everyone to search KZbin for the 60 Minutes expose on Luxotica. It is a real eye opener.

Most these products are made in China with cheap labor. You won't be making a socially conscious purchasing decision by buying Oakley

@@brimstone33 My friend, OAKLEY was never cheap, they always cost a huge amount of money because there was actual thought and quality materials behind these sunglasses. That remains true to this day and doesn't matter who owns the company. There are still people working at Oakley factory and you just don't want them getting paid for their great job creating these sunglasses trying to justify buying fakes because "Luxotica - bADDD". That includes telling people these cost 242USD which is bullshit because they cost way below 200USD in EUROPE (and that includes 23% VAT Tax , in the US is even cheaper).

You get what you pay for mate. Who knows how their lenses are made, are they really Polarized and have 100% UV protection ? I wouldn't trust my eyes behind their plastic lenses....would you ?

I think this is a classic case of not getting what you pay when you buy the real deal. 100% UV protection is a natural property of the plastic itself. As for the polarisation, you can test for that like looking at a phone screen and then turning it slowly, or using the little polarisation test they come with.
