Like you said Mr lee, you need to look in the genes 🧬 my father trained K9’s for over 55 years, German shepherd/Dutch Shepherd/ Bouvier’s/ Belgian shepherd, and i trained for 3-4 years with the KNPV my dad most of the time sold them to the American Police/German police, the army etc etc, but my father always told me you need to look in the genes who is the grandfather grandmother etc, because it depends on what are you looking for, great agility searching , or great protection pursuing, but now when i watch your video you explained it very well 👌🏻. But i am following you now a decent time and what i must commit i like the bandog you’re created. And I don’t think they have something like that here in Holland. 🇳🇱 Maybe i am also looking for a bandog next year in Europe, but yeah first find a good breeder. Also keep up the good work 🫵🏼👊🏼👌🏻

At one point I myself was drinking the coolaide from some very convincing breeders in the APBT community that did not really have working dogs or at least would sell me a great product. It took time and I prayed for guidance and over time it was clear I was making a premature decision. After educating myself I made the right choice for my family and we went and chose an American 🇺🇸 Sentinal. Or the Sentinal chose me because I was drawn to Lee and his magnificent program. We now have a 5 month old puppy and Sentinal are in a league of their own. Ty Lee❤

There so much more information on bird breeding than dog breeding, Kenny troiano chicken breeder has bin very interesting is there a over lap in birds and dogs or are bird species different fundamentally

Birds reproduce MUCH FASTER. As a result one can get away with more inbreeding because one can cull at a higher rate. For example, if a bird produces a 200 chicks in a year, and the chicks can reproduce at 120 days of age...you can cull 90% and still have 20 birds left. Cull dogs at 90% and you get 1 or 2 pups a year...and you gotta wait about 18 months before you can assess and breed that pup unless you breed it on its first heat, which is not wise. Also, I have seen a video of his. He has good content, but did get mixed up on gene flow vs genetic drift. Perhaps it was just an oversight, but there is a difference between the two terms. Overall though, he has good content. Note: Genetic drift is change in allelic frequency due to selective pressures, without any out-crossing or population migration. Gene flow is a rapid change in allelic frequency due to out-crossing or population migration (immigration), which brings new alleles or a change of allelic frequency into what would otherwise be an isolated population.

I love this. I have a different breed and different goals, but the theories still align. When I bred my bitch, I used a male on the other side of the country. People were constantly trying to get get me to use a different male, one that was closer to me, and while they may be perfectly nice dogs, they lacked the traits I wanted and I don't feel they would have complimented my bitch as well as my chosen stud. Sadly, the breeding only produced one puppy, but she is everything I was hoping for in a keeper.

You did right. One great animal is better than a dozen okay ones

What is your opinion on only testing males & not females. Sort of how they do in gamefowl
@APBT-Bandog Жыл бұрын
Does that work in nature? I think not. To optimize a gene pool, every individual needs to be checked.
