I can see a perfect storm brewing in the luxury watch market. People who are well off are putting their luxury watches away or selling them because they just don’t feel safe wearing them anymore. People who aren’t so well off who used to save their money and buy luxury watches are getting priced out of their hobby and they also don’t feel safe wearing so much of their money on their wrist anymore. Also one of the biggest players who creates an illusion of exclusivity is ramping up production while demand drops off massively. It feels like the elastic is about to snap in a big way.

I agree to a certain extent. It’s going from no Rolex watches whatsoever, only for display to now there’s a lot of models available for sale right there and then usually the solid gold submariner or other solid gold very expensive models but there are some models that will never be available without a purchase history like the stainless steel Panda Daytona I would have zero regrets paying double the Msrp for it, a person would have to have a very extensive purchase history in order to get it that at double Msrp would be a better deal and also I would add the stainless steel blue dial or green dial Sky-Dweller and not to mention the Rainbow Daytona those would be impossible to get from any authorized dealer without a very extensive purchase history from tens of thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars and for the Rainbow Daytona a person would probably need a purchase history in the millions of dollars after all the Rainbow Daytona trades for around 300k USD or more above Msrp!!!! Don’t have a good day HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!

Great video, the fake wait list is a killer. It remind me of a really hot club that makes people wait outside while the inside is empty to generate hype then the club goes out of business because lt’s really not that great anymore. Rolex is running the risk of losing huge amounts of revenue and may have to sell bundle packages to resellers to sell unwanted items. No stock on any datejust, gold watches, ladies models are not going to fly off the shelves once they display it for over a year. Unless Rolex stop making watches however I believe Rolex is in the business of selling watches. But that’s just my opinion. Thanks and happy holidays

Never give a watch to a Grey Market dealer on consignment. If they can’t pay for your watch, don’t sell it to them. Rolex is doubling their capacity and the watch market is going down. If you want a Rolex, go to several AD’s and have a little patience. At least you will get a real watch. The dealers know what’s happening and they will want you as a resource. I don’t take bs from ad’s and surprisingly I get the call all the time. I just turned down a watch for my wife from the AD. They got her in a room and kept telling her what she needed, instead of what she wanted. When I found out a 36 DJ was well over 20 grand she was startled. We turned it down.
@singaporewatchcollector62628 ай бұрын
Who says Rolex is doubling in production ? Their extra factories doesn’t equate to double production if you do simple math.
Finally Rolex AD have to demonstrate salesmanship instead of being a postman, obviously they r not up to scratch as u guys walked away 🤣

Top video mate. The KZbinrs you mention have realised the other thing you mention ...people have wised up to the watch drama and hyperbole. What do they do to get clicks? They create drama and the likes of P.T in particular create more and more drivel to feed the others. He then comes back all defensive when they question him and still believes he is the man of the people. Mean while the Ukrainian bloke in America is classed as a proper journalist? Meanwhile, he and others create marathon livestreams and have any randoms on to keep it going to get money. It is no wonder the likes of Adrian and Gringa seem to have disappeared from others live streams. I hope this channel grows for you. Keep up the good work Vinny - totally no nonsense stuff you create and in this world of KZbinr watch drivel you are a breath of fresh air.

Amongst other things I've been shilled mattresses and education courses recently on watch channels??? That's not to mention obvious over egging of puddings on paid reviews. Good video. What people don’t understand is that Rolex is probably one of the best run companies in the world and for sure the best run company in Switzerland. They didn’t become as coveted as they are by chance!. Last year they outsold the second place(Omega) 4 to 1!. Thinking Rolex will flood the market is foolish. Again, some of the smartest people on this planet work for Rolex and they know what they are doing. They will always keep a balance in the market by adjusting supply as to keep the value of their watches high. Do I see a dip in the market?. Sure I do but to expect Rolex to crash is nonsense. If they do, the rest of the watch industry is done!.
@mrgee0078 ай бұрын
People say Rolex is one of the best run companies in the world, but a lot of that is because they hide behind the BS of being a charitable not for profit organisation, has no shareholder or investors to please and pays a lot less tax and 0% corporation tax. Because of this status, they don't disclose/publish any accounts. You simply can't compare them to another watch brand. They have been questioned numerous times over the years about how much actually goes to charities.
@Odat8 ай бұрын
@@mrgee007 yet they outsold their closest competitor by 4 to 1. No one comes close!. They must be doing something right!. They are run by some very smart people. Can’t argue with numbers.

My ex works for Bucherer, she deals with senior folks at Rolex, well they're not about to over supply the market, from some of the stories she's told me, they're not as smart as you think they are, they're pretty much like any other large international organization, basically the right-hand doesn't know what the left-hand's doing, with a large dose of internal politics on top.

Happy new year my friend. Just so you know the minimum wage in California has gone up to $20 per hour. Israel made an announcement that they will continue their mission throughout the 2024. When it comes to Russia and Ukraine there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I think the prices wont stabilize or go down anytime soon. They will continue to rise not just for the watches, but across all the sectors. My guess is that 2024 and 2025 are going to be very rocky for all the industries. The only thing we as consumers can do is to lay low and hope for better times.

great video. i agree with all of the points you addressed but one, the AD waiting list. for the rolex/AD business model to work pretend wait lists where the best cliets get the most desired models is a must. why else would an AD jump all the hurdles that rolex imposes on their ADs if anybody could get a panda daytona without ever buying anything from the AD. as a businessman you always take care of your best clients

@BobbyTable8 ай бұрын
Having a transparent waitlist would be a terrible idea, for any company in any industry really because it disincentivises spending money. As a business in a capitalist system you have to take care of the people who take care of you. Those who spend more deserve to get offered the product, in this case the watch, sooner and treated better than the rest. People need to accept that.

The Smurf and the Bluesy have been available in most markets for at least six months now from most ADs, I got offer 2 Smurfs and 3 Bluesys in 2023 from 3 ADs with no purchase history, if anything they're trying to dump them because the flippers aren't buying them, but ask your AD about a steel sub and see if you get one of those immediately.

Yea Casa, know what you mean. I might add that I had been in contact with AD within those years but this was mainly emails - and recently this year I did purchased a gold ring from the shop. A pittance I know, but pardon me for being stupid and green - but nobody told me I had to grovel and lift my shirt to purchase an expensive well named watch. My reply hides how hopping mad I really am at my predicament having waited with anticipation for this long only to find there are literally scores of my watches on the grey market unworn with papers at 3-4 grand higher than MRP probably purchased from an AD knowing one of them could have been mine that was sold to them.
