I always hear people say that Sukuna has "1000s of years of experience," but I have no idea where people got that idea. Sukuna wasn't doing jujutsu as fingers. He has maybe 40-60 years of experience, or however old we believe he was when he was split into fingers. I doubt he even has that much of an experience gap with someone like Gojo or Mei Mei. Rather, he was around during the pinnacle of jujutsu and has knowledge that was otherwise erased from history. The only person with thousands of years of experience in the show was Kenjaku.

Dismantle is Shrine's (Sukuna's CT) standard slashing attack, which is an invisible projectile with travel time that can be resisted. Cleave on the other hand has no travel time and adapts to the targets toughness and CE output to cut them down in one fell swoop, but it needs physical contact to activate.

I honestly don’t understand the ppl that have yuji below the level of the heavy hitters. He and maki are the most well rounded of the heavy hitters. As things are now, he’s stronger than base Hakari by far, and base Yuta by far as well, but is surpassed by their time limit modes. He’s consistent like maki, but in different ways. She’s lethal, and is more stealth/prediction oriented. She’s a lot more technical, which is similar to Yuta in that way. Yuji is very straightforward. Able to take a lot of damage to deal a lot of damage. His techniques aren’t perfectly developed yet, so instead he uses them as support techniques as opposed to actual offensive ones. He’s almost a berserker like Hakari in that way.

@@nikobellic9004 I’d say they’re all relatively equal, and in a fight any of them could beat any of them in a fight in the right circumstances. Like I said though, maki and yuji are consistent. In terms of conditions for their strength, they literally have none unlike hakari and yuta. I have them beating yuta and hakari more often than not in a regular fight. Because they excel in shorter fights unlike yuta and hakari. Yuta excels in complex fights with multiple abilities and elements in a fight. If it were a battle royale between all of the heavy hitters at once, he’d win without much trouble. I feel like he’s an antithesis of gojo who’s strongest when he’s alone. Hakari is just the wild card. He excels in facing complex techniques like Yuta’s moveset. When in JP, nearly nothing can do him in, so even someone like maki or yuji would struggle significantly to make any progress when he’s in JP, and we’ve never seen the full extent of him going all out (last 8 seconds of his JP in ch.188). He has the least win cons, but similarly to Kusukabe in that way, he has the least ways to lose among the heavy hitters. Most likely he can outlast everyone he fights against. The only exceptions being Gojo, Sukuna, and maki/Toji since they have immunity to his domain.

@@nikobellic9004 JP is strange, because it’s still possible he heals from soul damage. Kashimo calls it advanced when he uses it to automatically heal poison, and use it unconsciously at that. Uraume says it’s superior to Sukuna and Gojo’s. Nanami was able to protect his soul with raw CE against Mahito. Since Hakari has infinite CE and superior RCT and it’s completely automatic, it’s likely he can heal/defend the soul. However, it’s also possible that he can’t do that. Without any time on panel, we may never know honestly. I think maki is the fastest, Yuta is the most haxed, yuji is the strongest, and hakari is the most durable. We really don’t have tangible ways to scale them to each other. Outside of Naobito scaling for maki since she’s clearly faster than him, and Yuta is confirmed slower (at least a month ago) as well as Hakari. Outside of that, we don’t really have ways to scale them to each other. I think that Hakari can outlast Yuta in a fight, but it’d be very difficult in between JPs. He’d have to have nigh limitless luck when it comes to pseudo spins to survive. I honestly don’t think anymore than 4 ppl can kill a JP hakari. With only a few more than that having a chance to, but no confirmable way.

This. A lot of creators here seems to still assume that Sukuna gave him that power. I mean just think about it this way: 1. Kenny said that he made Yuji as a cage. 2. Yuji can already keep Sukuna's at bay and Sukuna can only take over when Yuji was overwhelmed by multiple fingers. If Yuji cannot perceive souls, how else would he know the difference between his and Sukuna's soul? Sukuna would be the stupidest if at the very start he already gave Yuji the power to be very annoying to a point that Yuji can swap freely. I think a lot of people suggest that the only reason Yuji is that strong is because he was soaked in Sukuna’s cursed technique, as though anyone would have the same capability. But Yuji was specifically mentioned as being able to retain Sukuna which only happens once every 1,000 years I think it’s not that Yuji is capable of being special grade because of Sukuna, but that Yuji was created to be special grade and that’s why he could contain Sukuna. It takes a special grade sorcerer to contain a special grade sorcerer. For all we know Kenjaku placed a binding vow on Yuji to not release his potential until Sukuna had left his body, or the culling games begin and that’s why he’s had a massive power up

I was under the impression that soul punches do three things: target one specific soul in a body, bypass conventiinal durability and "rattle the soul" as Sukuna put it. That last one being the reason for lowering output, so, imo, it would also weaken non reincanted sorcerers

Thats a common misconception. Yuji's soul punches wouldn't work on anyone that isn't an incarnated Sorcerer. Sukuna explained how it works. Yuji targets the barrier between the 2 souls to awaken 1 causing the other to have lower output. So against a normal Sorcerer with 1 soul it wouldn't work.

A small point: I dont think the Soul sensing is a muacle memory thing. At least not in the same way as cleave or dismantle. It seems to be something Yuji just gained awareness of due to Sukuna's presence inside him. Even if Sukuna left the awareness would remain. Think of it like this: I hand you a red sheet of paper, then I take it away. You still know what the color red is and can see it in other things even if the paper was the first time you saw it. This also seems to be how Sukuna learned this ability as well since the manga attributes his knowledge of the soul to his time inside Yuji.

There's no relativity with Yuta. Yuta was and is still absolutely faster than Yuji. Yuji was completely and totally unable to land clean hits or keep up with Sukuna. Yuta had no such problems. And if you look, Yuji only lands hits because of openings that Yuta gave him. Yuta is demonstrably faster.

I love that Yuji isn't overpowered (in comparison to Sukuna lol) and has to grit his way to victory and am always annoyed at people who want him to pull out his secret teenager power up that enables him to be stronger than an 1000 year old sorcerer with infinitely more battle experience (at the highest level). Gege has allowed Yuji to play a pivotal role in the battle against Sukuna while not having him overshine everyone else. Yuji has been tanking, he has been nerfing, and he has been putting the hurting on Sukuna (including taking one of his eyes). I think Sukuna will get his fill, but Yuji is gonna be there at the end to make sure everyone's efforts were not in vain.

Yuji vs Ishigori (The Guy w/ Granite Blast) could be a top tier fight because Yuji is especially effective against reincarnated players, has a strong simple domain, and has a super effective version of RCT and super durable arms. Meanwhile Ishigori is just that guy I think it’d be a close one

It just feels to me like Yuji is already way above him, given Ishigori got 1-tapped by Sukuna and Yuji has landed like eight black flashes while Sukuna was trying to kill him. I know my opinion of Yuji is a lot higher than almost everyone else in jjk power scaling, but I feel like if you put almost anyone else in Yuji's place in this arc, they would've died a dozen times over.

You're comparing 1-5F Sukuna to a 16F Sukuna that Ryu fought.

10:45 The scissors have been explained in that very chapter iirc cursed techniques can differ due to the sorcerers time and mentality, yuji associates his cutting with something like cutting paper with scissors thats why that effect happens. for Sukuna he likely associates cutting with sword slashes and thats why there is no effect

Just something I noticed, you kept calling the cursed spirit the host, but the host would be the vessel, for instance out of Megumin and Sukuna, the host is Megumin, because it’s his body that’s being used. It’s like hosting a dinner, the host is the one who has people come over.

A good theory I heard for how yujis version of shrine differs from sukunas. basically sukunas version of shrine is based off a kitchen. crunchyroll actually did this when crunchyroll called his domain expansion malevolent kitchen and when cleave/dismantle were called fillet/dissect, which are terms used when cutting up a fish, which also connects to a moment in gojo vs sukuna, not only that but the kanji for his divine flame can also be read as furnace or oven. The theory for yuji is that his version of shrine is based off movies cause the scissors looking like a tool used for cutting and editings a movie because of how yuji had his first training arc using cursed energy by watching movies.

On top of yuji needing to touch for shrine to work, sukuna shlashes are stronger when he touches someone (source: Sukuna mentions this in the Yuta fight, where he also mentions Riu (the granite blast guy), who he needed to touch to kill). So possibly sukuna evolved his own technique, through binding vow or just level skill, like megumis ten shadows, to shoot.

Not only is Yuji way more versatile with 2 cracked CT’s, he does way more damage because RCT is more effective against curses and ups his already insane durability to the point he pretty much can operate like Chose. Also people are really not thinking about how transformative black flash is in a moment of crisis. Not only does it do a lot more damage but it’s symbolic of an epiphany in jujutsu like after gojo performed one he suddenly gained the intuition to pull of maneuvers like healing his brain with RCT to get his ct back. Yuuji just pulled of 8 so he’s probably going to come to a new revelation about his powers soon and get cracked AF

With the new chapter now we know that while punching yuuji can direct cleaves to the soul, which means that right now yuuji is capable of bypassing any kind of CE defense in the body, and only those conscious of their soul would be able to protect it agaisnt yuuji's attacks, which means that it doesnt matter how much CE you use to defend agiasnt yuuji, if you can't do it on your soul, it's useless, overall I think yuuji must be jogo level at this point, we know that a blackflash from S1 yuuji could kill jogo, now added to his new durability and anti-domain techniques, I think yuuji win condition is to endure jogo's attacks and land a good hit on him, and if yuuji learns supernova it would cover his only weakness, which is that he doesn't have any long-range attacks.
