We did it! What a great teacher you are! I made a double batch (hoping to freeze some)...no such luck. My boys were breathing down my neck waiting for the second batch to be fried. Your recipe and methods produced Falafel that riveled any I've ever had in restaurants. Thank you so much!

Thank you for posting this. My daughters are vegetarian and it's often hard to find good protein replacements. They love Falafel and now I feel confident that I can make it for them at home! You are an excellent teacher. I tried many times to make toom but was never successful until I watched your video.

Chef thank you for the great falafel recipe. Made it the other night for the family. I have never made falafel from scratch but it was easy and delicious (no more box mix for me). The family loved it. My 9 year old son wanted it for dinner the next night as well. I will be ordering your cookbook soon, it's all ready in my Amazon shopping cart.

I agree, pretty much anything deep-fried is tasty...especially when it's served with a tasty dipping sauce. Having said that, like anything else in your diet...moderation is key. The oil used to fry these falafel is canola oil (you can substitute either vegetable, corn or peanut oil) and it is pre-heated to a temperature of 375F.

Chef Kamal, I did the recipe yesterday and it worked very well. However, I,ve done by another recipe, which I received from a friend in Beirut. He put some ground cumin in the falafel, and I followed. Is this a traditional condiment in Lebanese falafel too? I'm looking for the most traditional recipe I can get. Thanks, from Brazil.

You can bake them...I would use the convection setting on the oven. It's not like frying them...they are so crispy and crunchy when they are fried. Give the convection oven a try.

I was under the impression that Lebanese falafel are made with dry white favs beans and Garbanzo and that the favs beans make the falafel more crispy. For your recipe what porportion of favs beans could I use with the Garbanzo beans.thank you.

Greetings, I really am surprised. I have never had that problem. One thing for sure is that you really do not want to boil the beans...it introduces too much moisture into the mix. Please...try it again and soak the dry beans over night. The next day follow the recipe instructions...making sure that all the ingredients are free of any excess moisture. You really should have no problem. Best regards, Kamal

Chef, I have your book and have tried several of your awesome recipes. I tried this falafel recipe last night and they fell apart as soon as they hit the oil- twice!! I was so disappointed since the tahini was already made and tasted amazing. Maybe I shouldn't have used canned garbanzos? Please help...

Bingo! You can not use canned garbanzo beans. They are too moist and will never hold together. Give it another shot using the soaked dry beans...the outcome will be perfect! Sahtain! (Double Health.)

Thank you for showing me how to do this! My family loves Falafel and the first time I tried to make them, they TOTALLY disintegrated in the oil - totally gone! I had used canned garbanzos and had not taken care to dry any of the herbs. I thought that a little moisture would help them hold together! hahaha When will your web store be reopened? I'd like to purchase your book and a Falafel mold? Thanks again...
