I agree that certain perfumes do provoke very specific memories. My mom's perfumes are very memory producing but what REALLY brings me back is one of my own: Love's Baby Soft Fresh Lemon. I wore all of the Love's scents but lemon takes me back to The Roller Drome, holding hands with my first boyfriend during "couples only skate." Really enjoyed this magazine flip-through. My scent memory is my mum’s favourite “going out” perfume, Gucci Rush (the one in the red box) whether it was a family get together or her going out with friends that smell just reminds me of fun times. My mum passed away a year ago and we put it in with her so she can keep smelling great while going out on the town in heaven. Jeannie you’ve really helped me over this past year to calm my mind and keep my overactive brain at ease, you’ve given me a sense of peace and calm that I’ve missed when mum was still alive. My best scent memory is the hot hand towels on Singapore airline way back to when I flew as a child. I worked out the scent as an adult, it is neroli - orange blossom, so relaxing and fresh ❤

I bought my first box of diet pills when I was in 4th grade and probably weighed 85 pounds. I developed an eating disorder because I couldn’t be what “everyone” said I should be. I am six feet tall and I did some modeling in junior high and high school but couldn’t get signed because I couldn’t get down to 120 pounds. I constantly dieted, took pills, over exercised, and hated myself. As an adult I saw a picture of myself from that time and I was so appalled. I was stick thin anorexic and I had thought I was fat. I’m glad to say that I had a very healing experience and I’m no longer anorexic. But it is appalling to me the pressure on our youth to look a certain way. My daughter has an eating disorder and during treatment EVERY SINGLE PARENT said social media was one of the defining factors in their children’s disorders. What we don’t teach our daughters is that from the age of 11-14 your body is SUPPOSED to gain 40 pounds. But girls perceive that as getting fat. It’s so important to do what you did in this video-support their spirit and value and beauty. Thanks for bringing out these important topics.

My grandma's kitchen ALWAYS smell coffee and I'm obsessed with it ! I know it's sound very " classic " but it's a very particular smell that I cannot describe it's like a mix of coffee and clean space smell ( she's a cleaning maniac 😂 ) and it's one of the best smell ! I've NEVER smell the same kind of odors anywhere else even if my living room smell coffee it's not the same 😂 I can only visit my grandma 1-2 times a year since she lives far from me, but that was the same smell and the same house since I was a child, and everytime I pass the door, the memories kick me and makes me so happy 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Magazine flip throughs are my absolute favorite. I also love finding older magazines and flipping through them. Scent memory: I can't actively remember the scent but it has to be my Gradma's perfume. It was some sort of Avon perfume. She was so soft and warm and safe feeling and as a child I loved to put my head on her chest and feel protected. I’m rewatching some older videos and I just had to answer your question! My favorite scent memory is the smell of my Grammie’s detergent! She passed in 2011 but we kept her powdered Tide detergent when my family cleared out the house. My scent memory is this scented bubble bath soap that we used when I visited my grandma. I was in Junior High when someone sprayed a perfume that smelled just like it, and I realized how fond I was of that smell, or rather the memories attached to it.

My memory is the Avon scented hand creams in the tubs that they sold years ago…my grandmother had a jar of the rose scent and I loved it when she would rub it on her hands before bed, because i would smell it before she tucked me in.

The smell of liver and onions floating out into the air from a neighbours home, takes me catapulting to my childhood. A winters evening, travelling home from school on the bus, windows steamed up, and dark outside…home to my mother in the kitchen cooking liver and onions tea. ❤…also the smell of the perfume” Charlie” reminds me of my older sister back in 1976 ❤happy days

I lived in Qatar for 6 years through my teens, the smell of Oud transports me right back! Such a beautiful, warm fragrance. A lot of my Arabic friends burned Oud or Bakhoor in these giant incense burners, inside their homes. I miss the smell a lot ❤️

My best scent memory is the smell of my Grandparent's house. I can't describe it. It wasn't perfumy or anything like that. But it's a scent I miss. They both have passed on now, and their home was sold, and I miss them and all those memories. I also have a bottle of my Grandmother's perfume, and when I'm sad or anxious, I take the cap off and smell it...it's comforting, the closest thing to getting a hug from her again. You're right...scent is such a powerful thing.
