Great shot of the jumping bass. You caught plenty of fish for it being slow.

One thing I've learned is that they still have to eat. If you are not catching fish, you have to change what you're doing. Easier said than done.

That was cool with the fish following the other fish. Camera picked that up great 🎉

I like getting those kinds of things on film. Not as easy as it looks.

You have been slacking on the topwater, huh. 😜 I love the slow mo shot of that bass trying to swordfish jump at the boat. Nice chunks.
@FCPFishing2 ай бұрын
The topwater fish have completely shut off for some reason. I think the hurricane messed them up.

In my limited experience fishing Lanier I have had days with not a single fish landed or a day like Monday which was my best day yet with 5 spots and 2 Largemouths landed and about 6 others that I lost. I got 4 of those on the Spro epop and 2 of those spots were 17.5 inches and 18.25 inches respectively with large bellies. Awesome fish. I switched to a shakey head and caught the remaining 3 on that lure. The great days definitely make up for the slow days. Like you I enjoy catching healthy Largemouths in Lanier. Thanks for another awesome video. I look forward to them every week!

Thanks for watching! Lanier can be a mystery at times, but I've learned that slowing way down will usually catch a few.

Man I haven’t been able to catch much of anything the last month . Topwater, jig and craw, swimbait…..nothing seems to be working for me. Glad to see you’re getting some. I’m not really confident in fishing the jig and craw. I’m sure it’s an easier method to fish when standing up rather than sitting in a kayak but that’s what I have to deal with. Good stuff Dana.

You have to fish with what you have confidence in, but if you spend a little time with a jig you will love it. This fall transition fishing can be the toughest time of the year.

Good video. Got my roaches in the mail. Now just waiting on the debris to settle to the bottom on Hartwell and I'll give em a try. Hope everything is OK there since the storm came through.

Thanks! Everything is pretty good here, at least in my immediate area.

A slow day does make us think more about what the fish might be doing, and something slow moving is a good place to start.

All I know is a well placed jig always catches fish. I could throw nothing else all year and catch plenty.

Options are good, smart to have 2 poles rigged so you can switch between them!

More like ten poles....

Two questions Dana---what do you do differently targeting LMB if you're already using the Roach or a jig? 2- How many different casts do you make when you come up on a tree in the water?
@FCPFishing2 ай бұрын
I really don't do anything different other than fish farther back in the creeks. I could write a book on this, but that's the short answer. I usually don't spend too much time on any piece of structure. Two maybe three casts and then I move on.

I fish the midlake for me the top Water has died too. No luck with the carolina rigged craws neither. what produced today was the weighless flukes white with chartreuse tail

There is always a slow period around the fall transition, but it will get good soon. Up here where I am fishing there is a definite jig bite, which is fine with me. I love feeling them thump a jig.

The lake came back up fast! Did the hurricane mess stuff up? It was muddy up the Chattahoochie side
@FCPFishing2 ай бұрын
The fishing has been slow, but they can still be caught. I haven't seen any muddy water, it must be farther upstream.
@laserdoc852 ай бұрын
got a pack of the little roaches. Have you tried the smaller ones?
@FCPFishing2 ай бұрын
I haven't tried the smaller ones, I would prefer even bigger if they made them. Maybe a 6 inch version.

Slow for me this morning broke off a dropshot cause I had my drag set too tight. Lost a good one. Then caught 2 small spots on a googan squad click bait (chatter bait).

It has been a bit slow lately, but the fish are still there and can be caught.
