One of the things I love about your content, and which differs from other KZbinrs, is that you don’t solely rely on the base content to build up your video. What I mean is that, you are so entertaining and charming when you talk about whatever the content is, that I don’t want to skip anything because I might miss something hilariously relatable while you’re showing us a vase or a piece of art. So, while I’m interested in learning about the decor, I’m also invested in your personality and unique point of view. Thank you❤

I could listen for hours to you explaining the ways in which you approach home improvement, all the while fumbling with your camera and babbling on about life, decor, and making weird eye contact with our neighbours. You've just got a way of editing that makes your video's so engaging. I don't know how to explain this, but your vlogs feel like you are talking to a friend, like other vloggers who talk with the person filming. But you are able to engage with viewers in that same real way. Quite the skill!

Don’t replace the beautiful sofa, find a beautiful fabric foot stool at the same height, that’s what I did and I am so happy with it! Also gives the option for another visual layer of fabric texture or print, and can be used in another room if ever you moved, or as a coffee table with a tray, or extra seating for guests if needed!

It's super difficult to Not decorate based on bargains/ budget, though. Ideally, our homes are filled with beautiful pieces which we pick and choose based on our style. Realistically, it's often more like : a friend gave you something for free and so you build a vibe around that thing that you enjoy. Interestingly enough, setting immovable parameters are one of the best ways to keep focus and draw inspiration

A potted plant used for decor is genius, because near the end of the season, when you’re beginning to redecorate, you can take the plant as a hostess gift to a friend’s house. No storage problem, and it doesn’t need to die! This works best if it’s a friend with a patio or yard, so it can go right into the ground after they enjoy it for a couple of weeks inside. The way you put your long table in that tripartite window area is also genius. I learn a few things every time I watch your videos. Thanks- again!

"Hot mess" is used to describe an individual who finds themselves in unfocused or chaotic situations. In some uses, a person described as a hot mess is attractive but just barely keeping it together". I had to look up the wiki definition of 'Hot Mess" And also the term "Bougie/bougee. Because I've never used these terms in conversation until now. So.. even though you can be something of a bougie hot mess. You have saving graces also. Number one, you have an attractive sense of humor and an easy laugh. and secondly, you are able to focus sharply on things when they're important to you. I think that you have good self awareness, so you know what your strengths and weaknesses are. Third, even when you're just hanging out at home, you still look cute. You're aesthetically pleasing. Bonus points for your physical fitness. It's a compact, tight little unit. Which is a good thing. Very good. this is my honest opinion based only on what I see in your videos. And offered because we'll never meet each other in real life. for what it's worth. Good luck with 'street man" Any man would be lucky to have you as a girlfriend.

I wouldn't change the mirror above the mantel, I feel the mirror paired with the pictures on either side is perfect! I think the only thing I would change is I would do wrap around banquette bench seating under the dining room windows, with a round table, and two chairs on the living room side of the table. The bench seating could have storage inside of it. For me the rectangle table feels very awkward in the space. I would choose to highlight the bay window. I've started receiving a lot of vintage pieces from family and your videos have helped me feel so much better about choosing to highlight the traditional style of these pieces and not hide them!

So many thoughtful tips and tricks! I always learn something useful when watching your videos. I'm totally adopting (stealing?) the family photo book idea. I always feel the love when I look at our pics and having it out and open will make that happen more often. I was thinking "wow, her knee must be doing great" and then you knelt. Oops. Thanks for the tour.

I always struggle so much with random shit laying around in my apartment and i can’t help but feel so jealous when i see your super tidy well put together home in your videos. I fucking love your space and I can’t figure out how to keep mine so neat! (Must say you usually inspire me to try and make my space a little better, so thank you for that🫶🏻)

I like tiny touches of seasonal decor, too, Caroline -- except for Christmas, which is allllll over the house! My sister got onto me one time (that Southern for chastised) for not decorating enough for a particular season/holiday -- I told her my house is not a division of Michael's and that ... was the end ... of that!😂 Love *all* your videos!❤

I can’t believe the KZbin algorithms actually offered your channel to me as similar to some other content I watch but I can’t imagine who…your content is so fun and original! Your footage antiquing and marketplace trips inspired me to stop being afraid to create my own home. I love how you constantly tinker in your environment!! 😊❤️

As always, thank you for being real and authentically you. I love your home and how it connects to all the different aspects of your life and those you love. Fall is my favorite season and I SO wish I wasn't allergic to flowers because the way you used them is so lovely. But alas, I cannot copy that or my eyes will start watering and the sneezing will commence within minutes. But I love the way you have the essence of Fall without a theme loudly announcing its arrival. Nicely done!

The "tinkering" is the best. I've lived in a lot of apartments and this is the first one I've really tinkered with and you are the reason for that! Thanks C!

I got my friends to watch your channel by telling them you do awesome interior design with a Jenna Marbles energy. I hope that reads as a compliment to you, because it's meant as one. Love the tour, and all the pillow colors lol

Love the potted plant centerpiece! I go through a lot of emotions bringing a fresh bouquet home and watching them deteriorate. I’ll avoid looking at the carcasses until it’s very clear I need to throw them out; I feel so guilty and sad. Not a healthy relationship.

My suggestion, Sweet Caroline, would be to try experimenting more with texture.. not rough, but soft, like a cashmere pillow, a throw, or an angora cat.. but don't let it die when the season changes.

LOVE, as usual, Caroline! Yes…do keep looking for that big mirror. Love how edited and organized you are. It really makes everything “count” and cohere in your space. As someone who is paring down for retirement, your comment about getting only fall things that die made me laugh out loud! Yes, good advise. I cannot count how many glass and felt pumpkins I have…seriously?? Was this necessary? No. No it wasn’t, but when I had kiddos around I felt like really doing up the seasons. In retrospect, it would have been better to just by the dying shit only. lol Keep up the fab work!

Malcom Gladwell! I'm in the "miss you!" stage as well. My son and I have a long commute to school, so we decided we need Malcom on the ride to teach us cool stuff and help us think creatively, critically, and thoughtfully.

I’ve been big into this channel lately and I made an account just to comment: that plant stand catch all tray looks like a Reese’s wrapper. Got excited to see a new video this morning, especially about Fall!

Caroline, your fall decor is beautiful! And a wall lamp with a wooden shade is rather gorgeous. The whole room is very warm I full of personality. You are so right that ''seasonal decor'' should consist of something that eventually dies. I have also something that comes from something actually dead - like pheasant feathers on a small marble tray.

I still REALLY love the BIG original piece of art that you did (behind the sofa) I keep mentally entertaining the idea of trying a similar project, maybe on a smaller scale. I'm so glad that you showed close ups of the art in the 4 matching frames on the left side of the bay window (I was SO curious!) and I LOVE the art in them as well, very cool. Like your Autumn vibe, it's nice. Also, what is a "removed cousin"? 🧡🍂🧡 p.s. LOVE the family photo album and especially love that you have it on display!! 🤗
@teetaloo2 жыл бұрын
i think she means a cousin who's "once removed" or "twice removed" etc. - though honestly i still don't understand what that even means, something to do with the generations or the specific way you're related through someone or something?? sorry that's not super helpful haha

I love how non-crowded your decor is. It’s definitely doable and not a punch on your face. If only you could check out my apartment and help me out!

I can’t understand why people in the US would want a pumpkin/s in their living room, to me it is so weird. I love your videos, you are like a breath of fresh air and so relatable.
