I will never forget this theme. My father had a grand mal seizure while I was playing this game, and my mother was freaking out. She called 911, and I just watched in terror while this theme looped over and over, but didn't turn off the game. Still a solid game though.

This is still a really good seasonoal song, especially that relaxing part at 1:37, my favorite part! Like all songs in Save the Homeland, it's impressive how good this sounds for sequenced audio! I never thought it was, but when I opened the files, I heard instrument samples... I wish later ports of this song sounded this good, though; All later versions of "Joy of Fall" here *butchered* it! They made it all fast, goofy, and has low-quality instruments now! WHY did it have to go downhill from this high-quality sounding, old town/farm song? Well...at least Summer Memories had good ports...

The "Joy of Fall" version used in subsequent games to this was clearly based on the Town Variation of this theme, which is indeed more upbeat and fast-paced than this version. I do agree, however, that this remains the best rendition of this song yet. Funnily enough, though, I never actually saw anyone actually upload the town variation of this song anywhere on the internet when I searched for this soundtrack a while back, and I wonder why that is, considering every other rendition of this song is based on that version as opposed to this one… Regardless, one thing about your comment has got me curious. When you say you "opened the files and heard instrument samples", what exact "files" are you referring to? Did you extract the raw audio from the game somehow, and got a MIDI file or something of the sort? If so, that could be pretty useful and a nice thing to have overall.

Harvest moon save the homeland seru juga dari mulai pemandangan dan musiknya. Cuman banyak kekurangannya. Dikitnya event, cepetnya waktu, susah masukin dan ngeluarin sapi dan kuda dan masih banyak lagi kekurangannya. . Harvest Moon Back To Nature masih tetap yang terbaik menurut gua dari semua versi harvest moon. . Semoga ada yg ngembangin game harvest moon BTN dengan tidak mengurangi karakter pemain dan eventnya. Di tambah tidak mengubah musim tanam dan event di bulan itu

I don't like this Harvest Moon simply because you cannot get married and shit, but the music are very nice! Remind me of the FF13 and FF13-2 games it's shit, but the music are amazing.

Well, I think that's intentional. Like, that's the whole point of this game, IT HAS AN ENDING. What I mean is; Save the Homeland, different from most Harvest Moon, has a story, an ACTUAL story, it's not just farming, it's about saving the town. Think, what would we do after that? There's just no point, even if we marry. So, to me at least, it's a pretty nice touch for us to actually finish the game instead of just playing and doing absolutely nothing, because there's no progression, and the story is already perfect, despite being short. I'm sure they could have done more, it's for the PS2 after all. But they just didn't want to. And just to prove my point, go and play Hero of Leaf Valley, the PSP remake of this. You CAN marry in that game. But what does it change? It's not like there's a post-game or anything you don't even have kids, you're just there... I mean, if you actually enjoy farming and upgranding things, just go ahead and do it. But to me, the story is the essential part of a game, specially a game like this. That's why I think this game is easily the best of the series, despite being also one of the most different. But that's just my opinion.

@@AirAmour no what you said is not opinion it's fact this is the best harvest moon game because of the reason you explained , i was a young teen when i had been lent a ps2 including this which i initially thought a game about farming would be dumb and not fun until i tried playing it and discovered it's magic....

@@AirAmour Not too sure what you mean about "It has an ending" most Harvest Moon have an ending. Harvest Moon 64: It ends when your father visit you after 4 years I believe? There a cutscene with all your friend showing up and your father will be impress or extremely disappointed. Harvest Moon Back To Nature: Its similar to HM64 but this time around it end after 2-4 years I think and the goal is to do well enough to be accepted by the villager and be allow to stay. (Probably one of the best classic HM) Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life: It ends after like 18 years in game but years are shorter, (And its more like 30-40 years in game story, there is time skips) you start as a 25 or so years old man and end up as a 50-60+ old man with grey hairs after raising a child to adulthood and the game end when well... Not gonna spoil it for you if you don't know but it *END* alright. xD (One of my favorite HM game though due to how *unique* the child system is..) Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility: It ends after you collect all the "rainbow" and finish the game main storyline. (One of my favorite HM in term of gameplay/music ) Harvest Moon Animal Parade: Its literally the same as HMTOT but you collect bells this time and it ends after you finish the main story. (I really loved this one due to the mining system and caves) All of these Harvest Moon above have an ending, but you can continue playing after if you feel like it, some of them have post ending goals and stuff to do. I have no idea about the newer Harvest Moon that are called "Stories of Seasons" though, but one thing is for sure, most older Harvest Moon game have an ending.
