Yep, that works well. We actually put down another treatment late Sept- early Oct when we schedule the aeration for our customers. Thanks for commenting!!

off topic. My drum on my ryan aertaor cracked badly so I am having to replace it. Can I use my old drain plug with the new one or do I have to purchase a new one? Are they screwd on or glued?? Thanks

The old one will work.. you lift to unlock it, then unscrew about 5 turns.. then use a flat screwdriver to pry it out.

Those drums always eventually crack. They are a pita to replace... Especially on the older style Ryan's.

@@ColumbusLandscapers Do you think keeping water in the drum will help with making it last longer? I always ran mine empty but now thinking about always using water then emptying when finished. Thoughts?

I always run at least half full. I think it help with the impact and reduces the cracking. Eventually they just wear thin though.

@@ColumbusLandscapers I agree about the p i t a, we had to cut one of the bearings because it was welded to the shaft, the problem is you don't have a lot of room to work with. I was able to find another barren on eBay.
