I’m here to see when the tree colors peak so I can take my family there next year and rent a cabin again. We have never rented a cabin during autumn and it’s been years since I’ve been in the mountains during that time. I’m guessing maybe 1st week of November?

Thanks for the question! Usually the peak time is the last two weeks in October depending on the elevation. They tend to peak a little earlier in places like Clingman's Dome and Mt LeConte but still plenty of color through the first week in November although a lot of the foliage is falling off by then. Yes it is open from Weirs Valley southward. The North section at Cosby is, however, still closed. I hope you enjoy your visit, the colors are magnificent!😃

Thank you Raymond! I'm sure you are going to enjoy your visit. The leaves are beautiful and at full peak! I hope you and your family have a safe trip! :) Just a heads up on travel conditions, traffic inbound from the west toward Asheville is a real challange so if you are coming up I-95 beware! I think I would consider coming up I-75 to Sevierville. It's a little longer but no issues with roads or traffic. Stay safe and blessed!! :)
