Thank you! After 4 days of hurricane Ian here in Florida, no electricity other than a generator for frig and freezer, trees toppling, rain that would make Noah proud, and no internet, imagine my pleasure when your post shows first. A beautiful, self sustained, young lady, digging in the garden, fixing a gracious meal, and taking a hike without TikTok involved. Thank you Emily, life is worth the pain we endure...

Loads of good vibes from Paris, France ;)

Emily, I’m glad to see you spending time with your dad and sharing his dream. I’ve watched your Dad over the years from the time he put a shovel in the ground building his first cabin. I have felt sorry for him for all these years for not having your Mom along with him more to share his dream. From our perspective he seems alone most of the time. I’m living my dream through his videos and I too feel his pain of sharing the dream alone. A daughter that will venture out with her Father is truly a blessing. I too have an Emily your age. My heart melts every time we share moments together. You are a special young lady.

Looks like you had an amazing harvest. To have it freshly picked and grown yourself is the best. No comparison to the grocery stores produce. Before we know it, our weather will change and we will no longer be too hot and suntanned. To have the four seasons is the very best way of life for many of us. Enjoyed your video. You should take Cali with you on your wooden hiking adventures.

Great video. I think maybe you need to wait for the sweet potatoes to develop their sweetness. I watch the farms around me here in North Carolina and it's still too early for them to harvest, but last time they grew them the farmers dug them up and left them laying on top of the ground for at least several weeks and maybe as long as 3 months. Maybe they'll get sweeter as they age in the root cellar.

Yes, this is a beautiful time. Harvest is the gift from the plants for all the love we put into our garden. Your harvest looks fantastic! I enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Thank you! I harvested my sweet potatos yesterday and I laughed because of the joy I felt. They are so big and beautiful! I'll cure them in a little sauna I made, with a heat mat and a plastic container with lid and a waterbowl for 5 days, they need humidity and 30°C after the 5 days they need 3 days a cool and dry place. They need this to change the starch into sugar. They even heal their skin if there is a little damage and the cure allows me to store them the whole winter!
