Great fall plans! Thank you for the inspiration😊 I just finished the Eva Cardigan and I can allready tell that it will be so great to have this fall. I also knitted the mamba dress earlier this year. Such a great knit. I used drops Lima. It's a little bit to thick of a yarn so I had to knit size 1. But I am so happy with the reasult. Looking forward to your next podcast 🧶😊

As a substitute for the Fabel knitwear turtleneck sweater, you should look at the Woodruff Sweater by Celine Feyten. It’s fingering weight and has a vintage feel and it would be easy to make it more fitted.

Currently knitting the Paul cardigan in Knit Picks Swish DK and it is super soft! I chose the Paul over the Calm Down but those are my two current fav designs. I love the design elements of both!

I really like your plans, i have few of these project in my favourites too :D About Esther sweater and Sandness Garn mohair - I found it to be the most scratchy mohair I ever used. So if you are sensitive I would recomend something different. Maybe Filcolana Tilia? It's very soft and has a lot of beautiful colours. I made a dress with Filcolana Arwetta together with Tilia and it's just so nice and soft!

For example - Arwetta in colours Desert Rose, Flamingo or Bubblegum paired with Tilia Bubblegum or Vintage Rose - I think it could make a beautiful fabric.

I've just recently finished the Eva cardigan and i love it!!!! I know exactly what you mean by this pattern needing a more dense fabric. Just from experience, i think the heavy merino would do the 2x2 rib well! I used the sadnes garn peer gynt and it was the perfect fit. I stayed away from the mohair and super drapey fabrics for this one! - also, i just bought the yarn for my chantal sweater! I chose sadnes garn sunday + pascuali alpaca lace. I'm hoping its a good combo! I was also looking at the knitting for olive and it just was too hard to chose the perfect color for me based on photos online lol. KFO would be beautiful for this sweater though :)

I’ve done two patterns by Fabel. The fingering weight pattern done on recommended needles definitely produces a loose fabric but it’s not horrible at all. The second one I went up to a bulky weight yarn on my recommended size and recommended needles and while it was tight to knit, it did not end up oversize at all. Probably doesn’t help too much but the more info the better I suppose lol.

Hi maddie, great to see you. 100 deg!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh, I used to live in the outback and that's the temperatures we worked at. I've gone soft now and reach for the aircon :-) Just a note - I don't know how many yuou have done but you need to look at the camera lens, not at yourself. it's disconnecting for viewers and a mistake that hundreds of podcasters seem to make. I'm not sure how since we should be editing our work befor sending it out into the world but hey ho! Better late than never and it will improve your podcast so much. :-) Podcastiung 101 - look at the camera lens. oh and we have a new kitten that has blue russian in her so her paws are mauve!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course we called her Lilac and this has spurred me on to want to knit lavender things. such fun! I've had HUGE issues with fableknitwear patterns. the row gauge was all out even though I had met gauge so the armholes were so far up my arms, I couldn't wear the garment. I've always had trouble and she didn't help me when I asked so I don't buy her patterns any more.

And I want to say thank you for this comment, it sounds dumb but I have literally never even thought about where I’m looking so I really appreciate this!! @@truesummerknits Oh grey cats are the best. we'd never had a gray cat ours is crossed the russian blue and a grey tabby so Lilac is super cute, four thie feet, white tummy with spots and stripes and white chest. of course we adore her. Oh great re the tip on looking at the camera lens. it will make a huge difference to your podcast because you're doing a super job of it so far. You're more fluid than many, your projects are great and you talk about them in such a super professional way that I love 'catching up' with you. Love Lu in Australia xxx

Hi, I have knit the capulet blouse by Fabel knitwear and was also confused with the gauge. I ended up going down one whole needle size to meet gauge🤷🏼‍♀️. But once I figured this out knitting it was fine. On a different note, I am also a cool summer type but sometimes feel a bit confused about yarn colors that would suit me like purple, red or brown. Could you make a video giving some yarn color options for each Color type and why it would suit the season? (I know you already have a similar video but maybe make one with more “complicated” colors☺️?

As far as colors: winter/summer people look best in clear cool colors. True red. Navy. Discos Autumn/spring people look best in warmer versions as in Orange reds and blues that lean towards green Hope that helps

If you are interested in vintage patterns, have you watched @SejiFields podcast? She works on a lot of vintage patterns and shares her process with viewers. It's a great podcast! Some designers you might like, but may already know, are Sydney Crabaugh and Poison Grrls!

for Fabel knitwear designs, look at the yardage of the yarn she used! Maybe it is a heavy fingering that leans sport weight? Or if it is held with a mohair or a suri maybe the fluff fills in the gaps? 20 st/ 10 cm does sound quite loose for fingering

Fabel Knitwear is infamous for horrible gauge on her patterns. Similar issues with some Jessie Maed designs and Caitlin Hunter too. If you look at the Ravelry project notes for the Marilyn Turtleneck you'll find a bunch of people having difficulties reaching gauge and if they do reach gauge, their projects stretched out a lot post blocking. Even in the pictures for the sample, her stitches are incredibly uneven. I love her designs but would probably never purchase them because I am not willing to put 2-4 weeks into an item just to end up with something I won't like.
