Something you might want to try out is water proof socks. Keep those feet dry and warm. Shower pass makes a good pair.

I'll add on endura, I love them. At the very least merino wool socks are helpful as well

sweet tip! I got some trailcross GTX on the way for waterproof shoes. They finally became available in my little feet size

I need to stop making excuses and get out there regardless of the rain! Looked like a great day despite the weather. Any day on the bike is a good one! I will be coming down there sometime soon and will hit you up!

It might seem a bit odd, but Scuvvers are fantastic for keeping your car seats clean when you’re muddy. Initially, I thought they were an unnecessary product, but after buying a set on sale, I discovered just how useful they are. It’s nice to have them attached to the seats so you cannot forget them.
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
that's so nice you can put them in the washer! Nice tip

I swapped from the Assagai to the High Roller 3 and it’s a game changer. Sheds mud so much better. I was really packing up the Assagai lately and it’s much better. The knobs really dig into damp loam.
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
That's a solid rec! You run magic mary's ever? I have two of them in 29 so I might try that as opposed to the assegai
@LoamerMTBАй бұрын
@ No but by buddies do and they don’t pack mud and have great grip. The purples?

It would be greatly beneficial to a lot of riders on what trails you like the best in the wet/rain.

Anything with lots of rocks and drainage rides well! I try to stay away from loamers so it doesn't destroy them

@@MTB_Corbin Sorry, what do you personally like to ride when it's especially wet?
@ColtonPuzonАй бұрын
Appreciate the video Corbin! Nice to see what the trails actually look like when the weather looks too wet. I was out there a couple weeks ago for my first time and not only did it feel like a hurricane but I didn't realize you need an EMTB/Shuttle or the stamina of a marathon runner to park at the bottom haha.
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yeah these trails do pretty good in the wet, it is a battle to get to the top though haha. Especially if you want to do multiple laps, feels like North Slope area was built for shuttling and e-bikes.
@PuffinPassАй бұрын
Yesterday at work I was asking a buddy if he wanted to finally get out and learn to MTB with me. We don't get the same level of rain you do on the west side but it gets cold. He said it was too cold so I tried to explain to him it was the best time to ride because you don't overheat and once you get moving you don't notice the cold. Nobody believes me, but fall is my favorite time to ride for sure. You are in peak condition, the trails are that much more challenging and you can actually dress for the weather easily.
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
Fall seriously is the best! You're so right too that the temps are a lot easier to ride in. I hate sweating in the summer heat

That shuttle day was awesome. 👌 Maybe we can all try to plan a shuttle day where we all ride. Right off the bat Scoby looked SLICK haha.

@joshhas99problems Bellingham has got some decent stuff kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmTYnGZuYtFooMUsi=xIPa17DEhotPw7HY Not sure how much was impacted from the bomb cyclone though… most of Tiger, raging, and duthie are closed besides cleanup and maintenance given how decimated it got

@ heard Galbraith was relatively unaffected by it, I think it was pretty localized. We were SUPPOSED to get nailed by it down here too but we dodged that bullet! I have seen that video and all those trails are on my list! Gonna check out chuckanut and some unsanctioned stuff while I’m there too.
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
@@joshhas99problems Chuckanut is rad. Double black and double down are lots of fun. Also really hard to beat unsanctioned trails up there!

Would be super interested to hear your thoughts on high pivot vs tire selection for grip in the PNW wet? Looking to move out there in the Spring and not sure if I should go high pivot or just invest in some sticky tires or both??? Cheers! Love your channel btw!
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
Thank you! The high pivot fashion hasn't taken off in the PNW, but I am a firm believer in it! I got my Deviate Highlanderr 150 and immediately loved it. So much so, that the next ebike I purchased had to be high pivot (shout out to the Slash+). I haven't spent time testing out various tires because they're so expensive. But I have tried some when a new bike has stock tires and still believe in the Assegai/DHRII combo for almost all conditions out here. I think a good set of tires will help a lot and be way more affordable than a high pivot bike. Most HPs are quite expensive, although I can tell a positive difference smashing through the roots we got. You will not be disappointed moving out here. Anywhere in Washington is excellent for MTB.

same conditions here in Ireland but I do not enjoy them as you do😉

Can you shuttle low key and slick jimmy year round?
@TheTaylorJacksonАй бұрын
(Like your own vehicle)
@MTB_CorbinАй бұрын
You can, we don’t get that much snow but it does come a little bit. Upper Slick Jimmy in the wet is not a good experience for the rider or trail. Low key does better since it’s so rooty
