Hello armchear historian .I have one request. I am Georgian and I want you to make a video about us too🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪 Specifically about the Shindis fight. this battle, the Russians ambushed the Georgians. The Russian machine gun platoon called the headquarters twice because they thought they had encountered a company of Georgians. Our guys didn't let them move. The Russians fired from tanks, machine guns and grenade launchers. However, the Georgians were not going to give up. The enemy will give you victoryAfter the Georgians have run out of bullet supply. However, the Georgians preferred death to capture. Alexander Onian and his godson roman zoidze blew themselves up. The Russians remembered this battle bitterly. Also many others but let's talk about Shindis fight and its heroes. Please make a video about it. The Georgian audience will be grateful to you. I will tell my friends to subscribe to your channel. I look forward to your reply. With much love from Georgia🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪 . დიდება საქართველოს! თავისუფლებას დიდება! 🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪

I remember hearing about one woman's story living in Mosul just after coalition forces retook it. When ISIS took the city an ISIS commander murdered the woman's husband who had worked for the Iraqi army. Right after the murder the ISIS commander violated the new widow and forced her to marry him. For the next few years she feigned compliance and contentment with her new "husband.' When coalition forces were advancing in Mosul the ISIS commander asked her to help him escape. She gave him a niqab and led him to an area where coalition forces were letting civilians through. She rushed ahead of her 'husband' and as soon as she got to the coalition checkpoint she turned and pointed at the ISIS commander and revealed to the soldiers who he was, finally getting her revenge on him.

US airsupport was crucial here / Without it, the Iraqi army wouldn't even have reached Mosul & Kobany would've fallen easily to ISIS Those National middle-eastern armies on their own are just food for those insurgents, look at Afghanistan for instance / 10 days, in just 10 days they fell to the Taliban over there

There's a lot to say. The predicament was there was a paper division in Mosul of 400 soldiers, they failed quickly by a dozen gun trucks. It is understandable. The problem with the recapture of Mosul was, you had a militarized folk fighting as guerillas, on the other side you paramilitaries acting as military. The defenders of Mosul were hard core fighters from the West. They knew drone warfare, how to deploy VBIEDs, and it is a city prepped for siege.

As an Iraqi, who has visited Mosul in the past 3 years dosens of times, you gave a very accurate representation of the war and the stories that ensued it. And all in a 16 min video, of course a very short video for the matter but at the same time quite concise and accurate. The thing is, there are possibly thousands of stories within this battle I only hope that one day these stories would be given their value and not to be forgotten.

As an American, I truly hope you and your country find peace in your time. I was born in 2001 and since the day I was born, the Middle East has been filled stricken by violence while I got to live disconnected from it all. (It's through T.A.H. that I get to see some of the things you all have dealt with for the past few decades. I hope that, sooner rather than later, you all may find peace again.) (I don't know Arabic myself, so the last few lines of what I said in English got axed since I couldn't get it to translate properly. I'm still not certain if it translated correctly, but I hope it did)

I served as a machine gunner in a US Army MP team in Mosul from July '06 to November '07, doing PTT training with Iraqi Police. We were out with those guys everyday doing patrols and raids. We'd do raids we called "Lion Hunts" where we closed off whole city blocks and just raided apartment complexes in neighborhoods known to be heavy enemy strongholds. These were massive affairs with the 2nd Infantry Division and all local IP forces. We lost a whole lot of our IP's during that time, they were getting killed left and right. I remember seeing all the major landmarks in Mosul, like the leaning Minaret and the Tomb of Yunas (Jonah) which were later destroyed by ISIS after the US pulled out of the conflict. It infuriated me seeing these get destroyed by ISIS during this period of occupation. ISIS also wreaked terrible havoc on the Kurdish population of Northern Iraq, as well as the Yazidis and Northern Christians. God Bless the Kurds, I always found them to be great friends and allies.

I was on the Eisenhower for the 2016 deployment. We dropped the most ordnance on a deployment since 2003, it was incredible. We’d have to replenish our bombs and JP5 2-3 times per week. It really makes grinding away in the Persian gulf worthwhile when you see hundreds of sorties leave with a full load of bombs and come back clean every day! Glad we could help liberate this historic city.

Griffin, dude I just wanna let you know, you’re doing an excellent job. You’re touching base with topics that are both sensitive but also need to be addressed. Ik and I love your WWII content it’s how I found your channel. I was a little disagreeable about your change in topic in content but seeing now what you brought to the Table. It’s Amazing. I’m aware you’re also getting a lot of backlash from KZbin too, that hasn’t been easy for you to deal with at all but as a History buff. You brought so much from the change of topic. Touching base with ISIS, our Involvement In Afghanistan, the War on Terror. The things we’ve been clouded and blurred from for decades. These are conflicts, and wounds that Veterans still carry. But seeing you address all of it and educate young people such as myself is very refreshing. Some of the stuff despite how controversial it may be. It needs to be addressed and told truthfully. So Thank you for all your hard work and dedication for putting this content up Griff.
