Just got into Frost Punk recently and have been watching your videos to improve my game. Glad you're coming back for FP2 and look forward to more runs.

A new video. Thanks! Thanks to these videos, I have learned a lot about the game, I have already completed 112 achievements and there are only 3 left. I plan to finish soon in order to finally complete this game before the release of the second part.

I managed to do this one with the minimum requirements for launching and it took me a ridiculous amount of tries, can't wait to watch this and see how it's done properly

my god, if it isn't the most depressing scenario in this game murders, deceptions, sacrifices... the things i did to survive i teared up a bit when my last shipment of resources and survivors... leaving behind few brave souls who keep doing their tasks, taking care of each other until the inevitable doom came

The ambient noise in this game is too notch. It's incredibly creepy. Congratulations on accomplishing this run!

Wait. Why did you send the Automaton to the City? Wouldn't it be better to set up the outpost on the Iron mine for an extra 200 steel per day? Or is it part of a challenge to not use it?
@Spectre-019 ай бұрын
I agree! An extra 200 steel a day is a quite significant boost
@JWiise9 ай бұрын
Gotta make it as hard as possible =) but yes the outpost would be a smart move.

@@JWiise Haha. If the game isn't a challenge why play it? Lol Great content btw.

@@JWiiseUp until I saw this video I thought it was impossible to do it without the outpost, I usually chicken out when it comes to using emergency shifts, I have to put my workers to good use then, either way, winterhome is my most played scenario and favourite overall, even more than last autumn

Youve got just the best voice for You Tube. Very pleasant, calm, quick but clear. Even with a hectic, fast passed play, youre easy to follow along with. Id love to watch a million hours of gameplay from you 😊

Thanks so much for this video! I really struggle with winterhome day 1 so I basically followed your strategy religiously for my run for the achievement at the very beginning. And I actually managed to get full dreadnought as well! With a different strategy (and of course that outpost everyone harps on about lol but you know that). For any interested in another perspective... Rather than focusing as much early on with emergency shifts for iron, went instead with using them for research. I delayed sending the first shipment of engineers to get more research uptime and pushed through factory and automation efficiency, completely skipping the heater upgrades and the medical tree. I kept two automations on steel until I got foreman at which point I'd switch back and forth which was emergency shifted and foremaned since that was more efficient than even a high level atuomation (really annoyed that automation project doesn't proc on winterhome). Also kept one on wood until it was unnecessary (honestly it was for awhile), one on research and one on coal once I took it off steel. Did mean I sacrificed a coal mine which did make things a little sketch here and there so I needed a lot of thumpers up all the time. Think if I used my scouts differently I wouldn't do that next time. Also used a hothouse in the beginning because I'm not as quick on the draw and food took longer to get under control and I'd forget about using heaters sometimes so got more sick. Certainly ways to improve. Basically spent longer in FEAR with high hungry and sick but a lot smoother in the back half and managed it right as the day 23 malfunction happened. Didn't even bother with the ill or heat 4 because ya'll were doomed anyways buckaroos. A difficult but fun time! The fact you managed it without the outpost and speedrunning it? I bow to you! Now to finish the On the Edge and Last Autumn to put this game to rest.

Playing this campaign, my first instinct was always to bring as most people close to the generator as possible, that's a assumption you are biased to take due to generator's heat range level preset on 4 the moment you turn the generator ON, in the end it barely covers all homes needed, however, one day I'd realized it is way more coal-effective to reduce the heat range to LEVEL 2 and set few housing clusters around, powered by steam hub. Basically, I would set a gathering post on the zone I'm planning to set the cluster, with a steam hub in the center, the steam hub keeps people warm while they bare-handed clear the area along with the functional gathering post, as the area is cleared, houses are built, this also helps cleaning ruins very fast. Last time I played this game, the heat range was set to range 1, I was doing just fine, but then later on I had the beacon dismantled by accident, since the scouters were not disbanded it caused the game to crash, the save game was corrupted, sending me back to day one.

I never really tried to get through winterhome but, the few times i did i never even got past the first objective on normal difficulty lol. It must have taken you a lot of testing to do this on survivor, great work! My head canon to this run from the way you played: the captain is one of those people that talk so fast, that people will do anything he tells them to, simply because his fast talk leaves them too confused to protest or refuse. This is why everyone was ready to overthrow the captain the whole run but just kept going along with what he tells them to do.

How are you able to run emergency shift on those buildings without people dying? Is it the use of the foreman? At least 1 person always dies on me.

thx to this i manage to get the achievement too. with a semi good ending ofc (full civilians, full food but not enough steel for the last room). We save so many = full civilians and all cabins Many died in riots = you decide hit people who running to dreadnough (the one event who say "some will die") With plenty of supplies = full rations Wary but hopeful = more than 50 engineers on dreadnough despite of decisions in this extreme difficulty... who cares as long you complete the scenario.

Play with my wife each scenario one by one, both playing on survivor and then watching your videos after beat it. I'm 53m in but I think outpost on iron the the first thing that will made this a lot easier, second is research for upgraded outpost depot which is speed up train and steel depo, it opens after evacuation starts to count down, and third is that you can dismantle steel at night and instantly build it to reset foreman and 24h. I beat full dreadnought on 3rd play. Great and pretty intense scenario :) We decided to go through the first game before starting to play second. Hope second will be at least the same

Entertaining as always! Doing a 100% run is definitely easier when you’re not trying to race your own clock! Milk all the timers as much as possible and such. And even after the final failure, you can spend a Core and few miserable souls to buy a couple more days. But that’s not nearly as fun to watch! 😂

im new here, and have a question. do you find the outpost "exploit" too much of an exploit? basically, you can dismantle an oupost after they send their resources on their way, and have them "discover" locations or get them to a different outpost. They cannot actually scout or send a second group until the first one has arrived, but it speeds up the regular scouts for these "discovered" locations, and it allows to almost have two ouposts for the cost of one. this makes the first round of scouting faster, as you can "visit" 5-6 of them within 24h and be back on coal before the next day, so your scouting team needs way less time for those locations. edit: but as i said, even if its "do everything it takes to win" with this game, its absolutely fair to consider it an actual "exploit" and not the intended way to play.

how to convert decks to cabin?

I'm probably number 500 telling you this, but you can have the outpost team collect steal if you leave the automaton working on the bridge. You also could've set the automaton to collect steal rather than workers. Anyway, great run.
