Gf/Bf in today's sense where they both do kissing, living together & other stuff are haram. If you love someone you can meet them in public places as long as you dress up appropriately & don't transgress limits. If this is what you mean by bf/gf, then it is allowed; but the gf/bf relationship that is prevalent in western societies today is not allowed.
