I'm a Spanish teacher and just wanted to say to all of you who are learning the language, that finding the intrinsic motivation is the real magic key to success. All the best for you! I absolute love my classes when the students are motivated. If any of you need any guidance with the language, feel free to let me know :)

The exact same thing happened to me after I took the DELE C1 last November and only recently (in the last month or so) have I gotten excited about Spanish again. There's just something about those exams that really takes all the fun out of learning a language and burn you out. Glad you're finding the fun in it again :)

Im in the process right now of studying for the DELE B2 exam and for the life of me my mind goes blank during the oral part and the writing is hard and the listening but the reading section is my strongest. Any tips? Also I feel burnt out and my test is in a month.

So such great timing on the video, and it’s awesome to see you so passionate and enthusiastic about it. Also I feel like your video editing skills must’ve improved since I last remember, it’s so polished and great to watch. Quizas podrías hacer más videos en español también, eso me encantaría

Its more fun to just consume media for me. I just match it with things I am interested in. Like I picked up synthesizers as a hobby so I subscribed to some youtube channels about that. There is one about movies I watch sometimes. I found some twitch and youtube channels about latin american politics. The book is good too. I read some of the stories in that one. The only thing I suck at is speaking! I think for that I just have to find a tutor or travel/visit some place to practice and get over my shyness/embarrassment.

I have found that preachers are usually easier to understand. One I can recommend is Claudio Freidzon for Argentina. He has live videos on Saturday and Sunday. His church is called Rey de Reyes. The services are pretty long usually 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Lots of singing in the first part before the sermon. I watch sometimes on Saturday afternoons but not all the time. I have missed the last two Saturdays.

My thesis is that once you have reached B2 level, you need to give it one or two years not to forget it at all. If you are B2 on exam I feel like their speaking level is B1 and you forger everything in a heartbeat. My suggestion is to keep studying until you reach C1 on exam or keep studying another year or two after passing B2 :) Who the hell I am you ask? He olvidado todos hasta palabras basicas como tu hohoho

My recommendation is if the learning becomes too boring or begin to lack motivation then take a break with the learning of the language and instead get into learning the actual culture. Ask yourself do you actually know the difference between Spain Spanish and any other Latin American Spanish? What is “Spanish” and what is Hispanic? How is Latin America actually divided? Most Americans are completely unaware of where South America begins, what is “central america” and how many countries are actually North America. Learning all of that which is pivotal for what is considered “Spanish” really motivates learners once they feel they have a deeper connection to the region.
