EVERY artist should be like Ronnie! I can't begin to count the music I've legit purchased after watching Jamels channel! Dude always posts the link to the artist video. Some I'd never heard and some I'd forgotten about. Point being, the artists made money off Jamel 😂 I support the artists going after somebody when their music or likeness is used to legit make money like in a commercial, movie, etc. I know some artists are so far removed from real life, that management and team of lawyers are the ones busting on people and the artists really have no idea. BUT, in my opinion, they need to get a clue and direct their teams to fight the real violators, not the Jamels of the world. They need to point those lawyers at KZbin and say enough is enough. The KZbin app is set up to flag videos using music, film footage or the like. BUT the app ONLY flags videos from channels with a certain number of subscribers. Going by this "logic" it's apparently not a copyright violation if the channel has less than....number of subscribers. That's not how copyright law works. It's either a violation or it's not, although there is a gray area concerning educational use, that people got around for awhile by pausing and talking. Let's face it though, most reactors are not doing videos for educational purposes lol. Finally, I can make a REALLY good legal argument that KZbin is being discriminatory based on number of subscribers. The channel doing reaction videos with 5 subscribers is subject to the same copyright laws as the channel with 500k subscribers.

So think of the three songs as stages of his life/addiction. The black stuff from the first one represented heroin and the ascent was the high. In Losing My Life the image in the beginning was him confronting his reflection and it kind of splits off into good/sober Ronnie and bad/addicted Ronnie, as far as I can tell. When he wakes up and his daughter is older, I think that is representing the possibility that he could’ve lost all that time with her from being in jail and drugs and things like that. Then he talks about killing himself sometimes, which is a pretty straightforward metaphor for reinventing himself, getting sober, getting out of jail, changing a style of music, etc. Drugs is much heavier. When he talks about drugs he’s not just talking about actual drugs, but also anything we use to pretty much cope with the shortfalls of what we thought life would or could be. He murders himself, he confronts his mom, and takes control of the things that happened in his past. You can see the progression of his state of mind. Also “the American dream is a killing machine” is a super dope lyric and he’s referencing the general idea of that, but also talking about his mom and her addiction and not being there. Then it ends with him waking up and seeing Willow, his daughter, her eyes flash like the other versions of himself, in what I assume is to represent the chance that he is passing down the things that he’s been through to her and his concern about that. All of that is what I get from the videos, watching his twitch stream, and reading other things so someone correct me if I’m wrong on anything 😊 To explain his past dealings with the law and being in jail, Ronnie met up with a guy (Colquitt) for a fight and a guy that was with Ronnie shot and killed a friend of Colquitt’s, although it was later found to be self-defense. Ronnie and Colquitt were both charged in connection to the death, but Colquitt killed himself before he could stand trial. Ronnie was given 5 years probation and charged $92,000 in restitution. Then he didn’t show up for a probation meeting and got his probation revoked. He was originally sentenced to four years, but only served 2 1/2, but half was spent in solitary confinement. His life has been wild. I’m so glad you’re doing these and loving them! In my opinion there’s no one else like him doing it right now. Much love 🖤 You HAVE to do I’m Not a Vampire(2011)/I’m Not a Vampire Revamped (2021) 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

For the Song Drugs Corey Taylor (Slipknot/ Stone Sour) is great friends with Ronnie. He heard the lyrics to “Drugs” he like it so much he fly down to LA and put his part in the song to give it that buff and asked not to get paid for the song just to be in music video as well. Plus dinner with him and his daughter. Ronnies Daughter never leaves his side when doing projects.
@MrDisturbed333 жыл бұрын
When he wakes up to his older “daughter” in the year 2033, its is suppose to represent the fact that when he was incarcerated that was the year he was suppose to get out and it was representing him missing all the years of his daughter’s life and her being older and him not recognizing her.
@samd74763 жыл бұрын
I'm positive it represents when he thought he would die. Ronnie addressed this on his stream.
@AraClaire3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the order of release is the Trilogy first, then "Popular Monster". He then released two reimagined/revamped versions of two songs from his first album a decade ago. By listening to the original of those songs and then listening to the reimagined/revamped versions (which I HIGHLY recommend you listen to the originals before listening to the reimagined/revamped version), you see just how far Ronnie has come as a singer and musician. The song are: (original) "The Drug In Me Is You" / "The Drug In Me Is Reimagined" and the other is (original) I'm Not A Vampire / "I'm Not A Vampire: Revamped" ("I'm Not A Vampire: Revamped" is his most latest release). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CENSOR RONNIE'S VIDEOS (as someone else stated below). So yeah, next should be a double feature of original vs new version of the two songs I mentioned and you'll be up to date on his new stuff.

I never saw someone censor the Drugs video. But since everyone could see the original if they want, that's ok. I'm glad you liked the songs. Ronnie does some serious soul-stripping in his song. Ronnie grew up with addicted parents (his mother left when he was still a baby) and an addicted older brother. That, plus not being able to deal with becoming successful quite young, brought him to drugs almost "naturally". He became clean in prison and fight to become a better person, especially for his daughter, ever since. As I said: you'll love The Drug In Me Is Reimagined. It's very different and propably more to the taste of the majority of your subscribers. Greetings from Germany

Black Goo = Heroin - Ronnie had a substance abuse problem back in the day, you could say the trippy floating part has a double meaning, where Ronnie is high as a kite but simultaneously falling from grace, losing himself to the high. WTFBBQCensor?! - KZbin is getting ridiculous with the censorship, though i cant help but ask if it was really necessary. Corey Taylor - yup, that was him, anybody knows about killing the person he used to be it'd be Corey, since he and the rest of Slipknot used to binge on drugs and alcohol religiously, now they all sober. Ronnie's Mom - she was the catalyst that got Ronnie and everyone else in the family into drugs, eventually she disappeared from their lives but not before making quite a mess, i'm guessing this is his way of saying he forgives her, not sure. Willow - his little girl is his driving point, keeping him in check, but his biggest fear is that she will become addicted to drugs, that she inherited that tendency from him.

I love this style of music with the mix up of rap and intense rock transitions! And the lyrics are soul searching! Wild tattoos! Second video he looked different and his attitude was on fire! What an interesting story told. He's lost in a dream! Can't deal with himself! Third video I assume had some unapppropriate content. But the music was still intense and his message was about how drugs mess with you. Wow Jamel! Trilogy of a trip on the wild side! Loved it!

Jamal, I have been asking for a bit now, and I’m not sure if anybody else has asked yet, but I really think that if you listened to Brian Wilson presents SMiLE, you would enjoy it even more than Pet Sounds. It, in my opinion, if it came out when it should’ve in 67’ would’ve been better than The Beetles Sgt. Peppers, and music would be a lot different nowadays. So if you ever read this, I really think you would love the album
