Fun fact: He wrote this while in prison----looking into a mirror. So many of his songs are about his dual nature and the push and pull between wanting to do better but falling back into old patterns of bad decisions and self-sabotage. Good news is he's many years sober now, in therapy, all about making healthy choices and has nowhere to go but up. Loved watching your faces. He's ruined me for other music because his songs make me FEEL.

Ronnie composed the original. Sean Rooney, an Irish composer converted the original to a piano piece. Ronnie loved it and then it went from there. Ronnie does play piano, has for years and is completely self taught. He can indeed play this song. He is insanely talented. However it is Sean Rooney playing on this track, Ronnie wanted him to do it. The song is about himself. It isn’t about a relationship though it is so easy to see how people going through those things could apply it to their life. He wrote it when his was in prison, he had been put in solitary confinement and wrote this song looking in a mirror, it’s very self reflective. Ronnie writes and composes all of his music, comes up with the video ideas etc. His dirty little hands are in everything he touches.

Sean Rooney contacted me about this song. I thought he styled it after Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata - Sean was very nice and said I was half right - it was Beethoven but not Moonlight Sonata! Ronnie's talent is huge!

I have watched a reaction or two where the reactor was skilled in piano and at first, they didn't believe Ronnie was playing until they watched the video. Then they agreed he was playing the song. So, I imagine that, though we are hearing Sean Rooney on the recording, Ronnie is actually playing on the video. I read or heard somewhere (maybe on Ronnie's twitch) that when shooting a video, you sing during the filming also, even if that isn't the soundtrack that is playing. Lip syncing tends to look fake. In my opinion, Ronnie is likely really playing so the video looks correct.

Great reaction! This is one of my favorites by Falling in Reverse. Ronnie actually wrote the lyrics while still being in prison, fighting to become clean of heavy drugs (heroin, I think) and looking at himself in the mirror. Ronnie plays piano since he was a kid and he's an excellent player. He also plays guitar and drums. He often records parts of the songs before even bringing other musicians in. Since Ronnie basically IS the band, the rest of the band members change a lot. At the moment it's Luke Holland on drums. Ronnie is clean from drugs since he was in prison. He became sober soon after and then became a vegan and is working out a lot. Like a lot of former addicts, he's very extrem in everything he sets his mind on. Ronnie had a daughter and lives with his girlfriend Paige, former WWE champion, for several years now. I hope you'll check out more by Falling in Reverse. Ronnie Radke said he started playing piano as a child. As someone else here said the lyrics are about himself - the destructive side of himself with drug addiction being one of the more obvious symptoms of that, but he has struggled with depression as shown in his song 'Popular Monster'. I'm sure someone will correct me if I have this wrong but I seem to remember him saying he wouldn't ever write a love song.

I lost my father to cancer back in 2020 , during the month prior i listened to this song a lot. It’s touch to listen through this song nowadays, but it perfectly conveys the feelings i had back then. Just such a beautiful song

It's way (WAY!) above the already insane Drug Reimagined version and stands as one of the best and most emotional pieces of music (and video clips) of all time. Go for it as soon as possible. Wow I really liked this whole video! Great conversation at the start. I've been burned in a really bad way that stopped me seeing or trusting anyone for almost a decade. Waste of time in my life where I was focusing on all of what could have been, or might have been and all the problems with me. Took me too long to realise I was just in a toxic bad relationship where I was being emotionally beaten down for years. I love this song so much, but what really got me was the Ronnie reaction you put at the end! Quite a cathartic way to end the video, laughing my arse off after dredging up painful memories. Ronnie was a very bad heroin addiction before he went to prison. He had actually formed a band called Escape The Fate bef9re he got locked up. When he went to prison for 2 1/2 yrs his band kicked him out. While there he got clean, wrote songs and formed Falling In Reverse. When he walked out in 2008 his guitarist Derek Jones(RIP) picked him up and the rest is history. Btw Ronnie has been clean ever since. Also if you like this reimagined version, he also revamped his song from 10 yrs before I'm Not A Vampire. Masterpiece

I’m a empath and when I heard and seen this song/video for the first time original and reimagined and I cried as well because I felt that so much! I’m a recovering addict 20 months clean atm! Between everything bad that has happened in my life, which I had a bad childhood and young life and then becoming a mother and then the loss of a pregnancy and then falling into the addiction and so much going on that was bad in my life up till my sobriety, I FELT IT! I view music totally different from everyone and tend to view it in a aspect of life view type I guess but I love this band and there music and Ronnie is absolutely amazeballs and a amazing singer, the piano was on point for this song for sure! I also just subed, first time seeing y’all and this was a awesome reaction! Amen. Can’t love anyone else unless you love yourself first!
