I loved this one. Until now every single time I hear that switch it triggers tons of emotions for me. My teenage years were not easy, I dealt with tons of depression and stuff that happened that I couldnt process. So this is a PSA for anyone who needs to hear it: It will get better. Eventually. With love, Kat.

When he goes into his vocal fry during the second verse, it hits so hard. You can literally feel the hopelessness, the agony, the despair. It sounds like pure desperation, like he is pleading with himself or someone else. The whole song is great, but that verse in particular was just masterfully done, and the transition between that part and the following part where he goes breathy and soft, really illustrates a man descending into madness and emptiness, he's so vulnerable and broken, i honestly don't think it could have been done any better.

@@michaelwilliamson4759 No. He was in prison because of the probation violation. He was one of the organizers of a fight in Las Vegas in 2006. A guy got shot and killed during that fight. While Ronnie neither had a gun nor shot anyone, he was still given a probationary sentence for organizing that fight. He was told he had to quit drugs and take a drug test every month. At that time he was too careless and did not take it seriously and failed to show up for a drug test. He didn't quit drugs then. Hi just discovered your channel, so glad I did, that by far was one of my favorite reactions to this song, kudos! I'm not a great singer, but I used to be a sound engineer in my younger days, little live stuff, little studio. So I loved that you pointed out that they didn't clean up the vocals too much on this track, I noticed that the first time I heard it, not only is it good producing, but I think especially suites this song, hearing the rawness, almost vulnerability of his voice was the cherry on top of a great song. I was looking forward to you reacting to the hard rock drop, then I felt bad it scared you so bad and got to you at first, and then glad to see you liked it over all. What I love about this band, and the singer Ronnie, and you'll see this in their other videos, is they have brought back the art of a great music video. I was a late 80's kid when MTV still played videos..lol, and it is such a breath of fresh air to have videos that stir your soul as much as the song does. Ok, I'll quit rambling now, too much coffee, cheers! ✌️❤️️
