@elektromanyaro yeah it's been pretty rough I try not to stay at home anymore. We put alot into creating a home but now the memories strip me apart and leave me emotionally drained. Traveling, music and friends are helping me to find myself moving forward and learning to focus on new goals. I bought cameras and now have been vlogging about it and its been a great creative outlet for me. There were so many complications with my wifes illness I went down a pretty dark path.
@mr.tomahawkthefirst4433
@mr.tomahawkthefirst4433 4 жыл бұрын
@elektromanyaro I found an outlet into creative writing as well! When im at my most emotional moments I've been creating small poems and quips, I even began a book based on these poems that I am still currently adding to. I've mixed the poems along with stories and pictures of our life together... I decided to face my fears of allowing people to read my work and decided to publish the book for everyone to see at some point. My wife, before she fell ill was in the process of facing her fears to try to beat her severe anxiety disorder. So I in return decided that I should face my fears head on, I've done so many things now this year that I've been terrified of. I've never left the country so that's another big one that I want to do soon I'd like to get a passport and travel outside of the United States.

You should have done Falling in Reverse - The drug in me is you, first as that's the original version and you would have seen how the song had changed and how Ronnie Radke had completely changed the song but at the same time kept it the same. Amazing reaction video I discovered here. In addition I adore your accent & found it to be very beautiful sounding. Plus on your questions at the end of if you interpret things better as a person through reading or listening, I myself interpret them better through hearing then reading. This is because of how for most of my growing up as a preteen in 7th grade, I learned about music & other things like it from teachers who were natural born listeners that absorbed things they encountered with the sounds they heard with their ears more then they did in other ways. The truest of the teachers Emily, could also sing in a similar matter to the hearing ability. They were an all girl group of friends, & at the time I knew them they also took me in for a bit as their adopted brother & during a time that I was having trouble with my step family I was growing up with back then.

I wonder if Julia has found the time to peek at the original version, dive in to the backstory, gain a deeper insight into the metaphorical representation of past temptations, delusion, and insanity that is now wearing the blue dress (who fittingly goes up in flames). So powerful. I am taking my life back. You can't stop me. You can't derail me. You can't distract me. You are powerless here. You are the ashes of my past that my enlightened future can now freely evolve from. When one door closes, another opens. Though it may start as a tragic tale of hopeless desperation.. Not a sad ending at all. The way the lyrics and visuals depict that artistic juxtaposition is simply amazing. Julia picked up on the precise moment when Ronnie truly snapped and made the decision to reclaim his life from the abyss of madness. That scream of empowerment is beyond breathtaking. One of those 'resoring faith in humanity' moments. Well played. In a broader context, we all have a personal situation that we can reflect back to and appreciate the lesson learned through the passing of time. Arrrggghhhh.. What was I thinking?! Very relatable. I suspect angsty teenage Julia would have greatly enjoyed the original at the time. Modern Julia? That piano and cello is hitting a bit differently these days. In a profoundly good way.

This song is a fantastic view into the psychological dichotomy that is love. That love and hate exist in the same emotion and are the YING and YANG of that same emotion. The only way you can truly know hate is to not let go of the love. True emotional pain can not exist without a deep tenderness baseline ... sometimes only one breath apart. This is the emotional roller coaster that is being human. I really enjoyed this interpretation that came from a place of understanding as opposed to other reactions of the same song that spend more time trying to understand contemporary art from a classical POV. Cool. Thanks.

Whether or not I understand things better when hearing or reading, it's reading all the way. I have an annoying but not disabling level of damage to my cochlea since birth which makes hearing hard, and on top of that I have an auditory processing disorder as well that means even if I hear something perfectly clear it won't translate in my brain and ends up just being noise. That's why you're my absolute favorite reaction channel, subtitles during the song and then you talk infrequently enough that I can always rewind and get it without ending up seeing the whole video twice ;)

He didn't start the song out how the original song went, but once he got to the chorus a second time he revisited the chorus from the original song and I honestly think that was incredibly intelligent

Apologies for the long comment (again), but you triggered me. Thank you once again, Julia. I really love how you can discern all of those subtle nuances, explain how they are produced, why they are produced, and translate that into the emotional effect they are designed to create for the listener. It's really helping me to appreciate music more. I wonder if sometimes, you don't get as much (or the same) enjoyment from just listening, because you are subconsciously analysing at the same time. I know I experience that with watching movies where people are training or performing a sport I'm familiar with. I laughed in some really inappropriate places in 'Once Were Warriors', but that bench press scene ... (hilarious). My friend beside me was hiding under the seat in terror, but I was laughing like a maniac. She beat me up afterwards for that one. I guess, because this is your passion, the enjoyment that you feel is perhaps different - seeing things through a different lens - or at another level to what we mere mortals can appreciate. You had to go and ask that question, didn't you? Subtitles or vocals for processing? I was doing so well at keeping this short (relatively) until you did that. Roughly 30-40% of people attend primarily to auditory information (it varies between cultures), i.e., they learn best from verbal explanations, they can absorb more information from verbal or auditory sources, and tend to convey information in the same way. Everyone uses multiple channels, but some people attend more overwhelmingly to one, and are weaker in others. I would assume (not sure of this one), that most people in music are very strong or dominant in that auditory channel. About 40-50% are predominantly 'visuals', i.e., they absorb and convey information primarily through visual senses - reading, video, graphs, diagrams, etc. These people rely more heavily on visual information, e.g., subtitles, and can process that information quickly. They also tend to want to draw instructions, or show you a map, do a visual demonstration (charades, mime, interpretive dance) to explain or describe something. Visuals also tend to have a much larger personal space, so they can see everything around them. I'm guessing, most people in the visual arts or computing / IT are predominantly visual. Comparing these two, someone who is predominantly visual would probably process the subtitles faster (~40-50% of the population), and someone who is predominantly auditory would process the sung lyrics faster (~30-40%). Someone who was roughly equally balanced in these two channels would probably process both roughly equally. There are tests to determine what your balance is, and I think it's something that can change over time if you work on developing your skills in a particular area. Finally, there are the kinaesthetics (~10-15%), who primarily attend to kinaesthetic information or 'feel'. They prefer to feel things or do them to learn, and they want to make you do things with them to convey the information. They tend to be more comfortable with physical contact, are usually very 'touchy-feely' and have the smallest personal space. Most people in high level sport are predominantly kinaesthetic, and in some sports, a high capacity for processing kinaesthetic information is vital. Kinaesthetics are generally 'huggers'. I've had athletes who were almost completely kinaesthetic, and couldn't learn anything unless you actually made them do it. They could however, learn physical skills extremely fast (and, as it turns out, win Olympic gold medals). Last time I did the profiling myself, I was over 50% kinaesthetic, over 40% visual, and only about 5% auditory. Giving me verbal information is like talking to a brick wall. I hate speaking on the phone and it takes me a month to psyche up for checking phone messages. I communicate almost solely by e-mail, SMS or hand gestures (often obscene). I like to write, as you may have guessed. I love "Caption Julia'. She is my saviour. 'Julia of the Complex Diagrams' is also a huge favourite. Your lecture on harmonic frequencies and vocal tract resonance was absolute gold - so much visual information. In coaching and teaching movement, we usually have to provide information in all three channels - verbal cues, physical demonstrations and getting the athlete to perform the task, usually with tactile feedback simultaneously (social distancing sort of went out the window very quickly), and monitor all three channels for feedback as well. I've had to work on being better with processing auditory information, because I have to work with humans (albeit, mostly mutants), but I still have to work hard to listen to people talking, and I find it incredibly draining. In the video, as soon as I saw subtitles (and captions), I stopped listening to the sung lyrics and just superficially attended to the auditory qualities of the music and voice. Consequently, I think I only heard the music subconsciously, because the visual feast was so sumptuous (AND THE FIRE)! I wasn't really comfortable with the girl being set on fire, even if only allegorically. Do you think his vampire canines were part of the story, or are they actually what his real teeth are like? I couldn't unsee them.
