This is one of the coolest fishing videos I’ve ever seen. No I have never seen anything like this myself and that was cool to watch. This gentleman has a very efficient looking method and that looked like a fun day.

This was a morning night in South Florida so I decided to watch some you tube. Usually I’m into watch saltwater out of Fort Lauderdale or the Keys and freshwater out of Okeechobee but for some reason this came on after a bluegill video in Okeechobee. I’m so happy it did too. What a genius idea your stepfather has with the method of catching catfish. Now I lived in Illinois and grew up running bank poles or trot lines on the Rock River. I agree 1000% on how he’s saving the fish population and seeing the eggs in the bucket is proof in the pudding. I just wanted to take a moment to tell him he should run a USA Patton on the idea. It would at least be worth a shot to see what he could do and then take the idea to the Shark Tank. Well done!! Good luck in your retirement cause I think you have a winner here. 👍👏🏻🙌

Great video man. That side of the Lake is like a Bob Ross painting it’s just perfect; definitely recognized most of those spots. Your last video rabbit hunting really brought me back. Reminded me of the days hunting on the Boutte lease with my dad and Teddy.

I'm from the Chesapeake Bay 757 area over fishing and crabbing is real though.....but it looks plentiful out there and that's why we have fishing laws and restrictions and I'm sure if there was a low population problem out there, there would be stricter regulations in place, so keep on

"Methods and devices not listed here are not legal for use in Texas." There is no mention of what you guys are doing. For the next person, with the same question top of the page here: tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/fishing/general-rules-regulations/legal-devices-for-fish

In Louisiana it now has to be 8' on each end. Don't hold me to the 8' but I believe that is correct. And this just became law the last couple years.

In the second video your step dad said he throws the smaller catfish back because of a "sustainable" lifestyle. In the first video he keeps a very large, uh a very pregnant catfish! Seems to me that because of keeping with a "sustainable" lifestyle he should definitely have thrown that one back! Now, what say you? 🧐
@fallingtidetv12 күн бұрын
He was being sarcastic when he threw the small one back. However as a generality he targets the smaller fish because they do not lay even close to the amount of eggs as the larger fish. That female with eggs is still a very small fish, and though she may look like she is carrying a lot an eggs, in the grand scheme she is not. He’s catching catfish to make money so he isn’t going to throw hardly anything back. I think we should appreciate that he’s at least targeting the smaller fish instead of the larger fish because he’s well within his right as a commercial fisherman to fill his boat with 30-40 pound baby-makers. A lot of commercial fishermen do that.
