There is a 3G version out which is not limited edition - it has no serial number on the spine and does not have F1/3G but instead says F1 and then beneath that, is written 3G STEEL. It also has both the crowns so having the crowns alone does not mean it is the limited edition. Just updating the info for anyone looking specifically for the limited version. Thanks for the videos.

Beautiful looking knife, and exceptionally well suited to bushcraft and wilderness survival. Not a chopper, but you can do just about anything else with it.

I double checked the Fallkniven website. You are right, it is 62 HRC. I stand corrected. Thanks.

What I like about Fällkniven is that there is a left-handed version of the sheaths. Also for the F1, there is a left handed sheath.

@bigdogITbiker No. powdered steel has nothing to do with laminated steel. Laminated refers to the combining of two fully formed steels together in one blade. "Powdered Steel" refers to how it is made. It is literally made from powder like a recipe. Individual alloys are combined in the exact proportions wanted that will provide the characteristics of the steel one wants. The powder is mixed together so the alloys are evenly distributed throughout and then subjected to heat & pressure.

@EasternGateGuardian The 3G steel is both a powdered steel and laminated, so it has combined the best steel technologies available today. 3G is possibly the best powdered, laminate steel you can get. In my opinion S30V is the best powdered, non-laminate steel. You won't go wrong with either.

You won't go wrong with either, but the 3 G is a more advanced, sophisiticated steel.

@ROMACAPUTMUNDI1927 Problems? No. But due to it being a very hard steel it does take a bit of effort to sharpen, but once it is sharp it will hold that edge for ages. Fallknivens come with a razor sharp edge anyway so unless your going to baton with it or chop and hack, basicly abuse it, all your going to need to do is strop it now and again on a leather belt with a little polishing compound. If you do get one get the satin blade and the leather sheath, trust me.

I wanna buy a regular F1z from your website, but I found that the logo of your F1z is in the middle of the blade, but the one shown on Fallkniven's official website it's logo is on the rear area of the blade close to the handle. Which one I can get from your online store?

I was going to get this knife but its entirely too hard....that edge would chip in a heartbeat. I would much rather it to roll under hard use like knives around 57-59 HRC.

The blades are actually made in Japan.

the hardness is stated to be 62

That can't be a 3G model then as the the 3G model is 62 HRC. To me that looks like the laminated VG10 model either that or you just got your hardness wrong but none the less it's a fantastic knife. I've put my own through hell and it still shaves paper like no tomorrow. Any of Falkniven knives are quality and they will last you a lifetime. The new pro model has laminated cobalt steel with a Rockwell hardness of 60 and comes with other goodies but the 3G model will still keep an edge considerably longer and in my experience a better knife. You should also consider some bark river knives in CPM-3V who are Falknivens main rivals but for the ultimate edge retention get a custom knife made in Maxamet steel like I have done.

Made in Japan, designed in Sweden.

Nonsense. It‘s a cheap Asian-made knife, Japan made to be exact. All Fallkniven knives are made in Asia by the way.
