hey such a good review! its refreshing to see reviews based on the knives after use, so many videos seem to review knives right out of the box or after a week or two

This is a great series and especially enjoyable as I have been watching Equip 2 Endure LLC for many years now. I remember when the BK2 was your go to. LOL Thanks alot for all the reviews and skills you have shared with us during that time Adam, I really appreciate it.

That looks a lot like an old customized Ka-bar Marine Hunter I got from a close friends' father. He had tapered out and re-heat treated the blade on his own. It's one of my favorite, and best, knives.

I own this knife as well. As far as a lanyard? I found 330 para cord that fit the lanyard hole just fine..

I enjoyed the video. I purchased one about 3.5 years ago and have used it a great deal. The only criticism I have for this knife is the thinness of the handle. I have extra large thick hands, and working with this knife for extended periods of time fatigues my hands quicker than other knives I own; which is unfortunate. Another handle gripe is that the handle is fairly slick. I always feel a little nervous torquing down on it out of fear that my hand will slip forward onto the blade. When I first purchased the knife I read that the leather would become more course over time, and it has somewhat; but not enough. To remedy it, I even scored it with some sandpaper and rubbed copious amounts of Obenauf's LP into the leather. It still is slicker than I would like. As a result of this, I have moved on to other knives to work with. I regret buying this knife.

I have one too and those are fair criticisms for a person with large hands. I have very average (medium) size hands and it's like the handle was made for me. I actually find it quite grippy, if not sticky under force, like the harder I grip it the "stickier" it feels. It just goes to show that however nicely made and finished a knife is, it's most important that it fits the owner properly. You could probably easily sell your Idun, if you didn't already, as this knife is lusted after by many people. I think it would hold a fair bit of value if it's in good working condition.

Great review. I totally agree. A very good, heavy duty, beautifull, long lasting but still expensive knife. I love it too. I also have frej and odin, but idun is my prefered. For information, fallkniven is able to engrave your name on the blade, in a very discreet way.

Idun is in that "perfect" belt knife size (at least for me, thats 4-4.5). I knife that knows what it wants to be and excels at general camp stuff and fine work. 5-8 inch blades are bastard knives. Too big for fine work, too small for efficient heavy work.

Dude how do you keep that handle so shiny, I haven't used mine that often. It still looks nice but it has zero shine on it.

canadianknifeExpert That doesn't mean he can afford it. That means he could afford it in ten years, if he saves for it. Affordable means we can buy it now without having to save or cut out anything else in order to get it.

I would love to have a knife like that but if I spent that much on a knife I would be to scared of breaking it to use it.

+Alexander Torres It is all about being smart with the knife. Since its a 4 inch blade, chances are you'll have a chopper or an ax along that'll take the abuse while you use this for cutting tasks. Well-made knives don't break under normal use.
