As a fan, I know he was cremated as his body was ravaged from complications of AIDs. I think the joke was crass, and should not have been said when his friends and family were there or watching the ceremony because a film honouring him was up for nominations. Why would his estate bother to respond to such a low 'joke'? I'm not putting anything in anyone's mouth. A 'joke' about exhuming the body of a wonderful performer, one of the best, is just tacky.
