He wants the best version to be heard by the majority of people who hear the song. This kinda sounds like you’d have an issue with photographers or videographers editing their images before uploading them. They’re artists and want to display the best-looking art. You can go to the scenery live if you want, but they presented it in their best version online so it’s gonna be different

You should go man, there is absolutely no age restrictions for concerts/shows and anyone who says otherwise is a gatekeeping poser. I go to a lot of local metal concerts/shows and there is ALL ages every time. I've never been to a single concert/show with all one age group. I've gone to "emo nights" (Occasionally bars will play only metal/emo/punk etc etc all night) and there is always cool old dudes there. No one gets to gatekeep your music taste, go get that ticket man. It will be an experience you will not regret and something memorable to look back on. Concerts/shows definitely have magic to them, everyone's just enjoying the music/vibing/in a trance they're not concerned with anyone's age. If anything people will appreciate you being there as an older dude. Its an enjoyable thing to see all ages coming out.
