It's weird to say, especially with how outlandishly campy the world is sometimes, but the world almost feels REAL - at least the pre-war stuff. Because our history up until a certain point is shared, it just seems so realistic. The show does a great job of conveying that. "War never changes," encompasses so many issues that can be related to our own experience today.

This episode and the next one combined are a masterclass in script writing. People reach an entirely logical and reasonable conclusion in this episode, even though certain things are never 'explicitly' stated to be true. All the clues are right there, the whole time, and they don't change. It just comes down to what narrative story you fit them into.

Does it seem weird that Lucy wanted to have sex? If you're having sex with your cousin, sex is probably not a taboo.
@idrc14154 ай бұрын
So scene where Lucy asked Maximus if he wanted to have sex was because she was reading his body language. Before she said that, he was looking at her, and feeling attracted to her, and so he said she smells nice (also because he's not used to hot showers lol so she's more than likely the best selling person he's been around). She clocked he was being a little awkward and realized why he was acting that way. There wasn't anything in the air, but I understand why that'd be a worry after everything going on, and the "test subjects" sign lol

To clarify, if not to Blind Wave then to everyone else, Shady Sands was not nuked in 2277, it just faced political/economic decline and eventually stopped being the capital of the NCR. It was sometime after that date (a few years after the end of Fallout: New Vegas from recent comments by Bethesda) that the nuke destroyed the city.
@peterretep40093 ай бұрын
Was that confirmed, or is it just the most canon-friendly interpretation? Because going purely by the show, it would make the most sense if it happened in 2077. That's when the "great famine" in Vault 33 was, when Rose supposedly died, and the quarantine that caused the famine would also be the perfect cover for Hank to go out, retrieve the kids, and nuke Shady Sands.
@kevinsizemore20533 ай бұрын
@@peterretep4009 Official word (from an interview with Todd Howard) is that they messed up with the 2277 date on the board. Just a continuity mistake like what can and does happen in other shows.
@theemperormoth50893 ай бұрын
@@peterretep4009 first, 2077 is when the Great War happened. 2277 is when Shady Sands began declining. In an interview with Forbes, Todd Howard said they were cutting the dates pretty close, but Shady Sands was destroyed after Fallout: New Vegas, which takes place in 2281.
@RaptorNX014 күн бұрын
new vegas is 2281, four years after the first battle for hoover dam in 2277. and NV is FULL of references to things not being right with the NCR. how thinly they are spread out, how desperate they seem. also, i don't necessarily trust the "few years after" bit. I like to think that Maximus was shot by one of his own teeth which he sold. 😄 The way that Lucy and Maximus think about sex probably says something about Vault vs. BoS culture. If people in Vault 33 are having casual sex, then presumably everyone in there has access to reliable birth control; this makes sense since population control is a vault priority. Whereas on the surface, prophylactics are probably rare. Thus sex "education" in the Brotherhood is probably simply abstinence.

Realistically Vault Tec's fiduciary responsibility was to not go in so hard on building the vaults given that, inherently, for them to be needed would mean the end of most of their shareholders and at the very least the collapse of the economy and therefore destruction of all those profits. But you could certainly warp it if, as a Vault Tec minion, it was your objective to convince others within the cult of Vault Tec that they need to go along with this (among other warped lines of thinking).

They have human body parts. In Fallout 1 The Master, main bad guy, took multiple things and stuffed them together. Humans included. i think these Gulpers are a axolotl and human hybrid, and must have been made with his virus. He also made Super Mutants.

20:40 No, the entire section on Fiduciary Responsibility and Capitalism is evil was written by someone that couldn't run a lemonde stand out of their front lawn. I hate when art tries to do this because they do it so badly every time. First, no company getting paid by the government to build massive vaults to protect humanity would ever need them to be used to get paid. You get paid for building them, I don't care if you ever use them or not. Second, no company big enough to be hired to do a job that massive would ever be so single product oriented that they don't have the diversity mix to survive not using the vaults. Third, the idea of fiduciary responsibility isn't profit based, it is based on expectations and projections. Fiduciary responsibility is about recongizing that a company has been given the investment funding and therefore should use that money responsiblty realizing it isn't theirs. I could make lots of profit using your money to play poker, that wouldn't be a responsible thing to do unless I flat out told you when you invested that I play poker and am looking for people to invest in my poker playing. On the other hand if I have a company that makes soup and you invest in my soup company and instead I spend the money on making games for phones, even if I make a ton of money, they can sue me because I didn't act responsibly with their money, I risked it.
