The last thing Maximus saw before being knocked out was Hank menacingly ordering Lucy to come with him. He almost certainly thinks Hank kidnapped her.

You called it actually. It's New Vegas. Watch the end credits

I love the acting all around. One of my favorite bits are the expressions that play out across Coop's face when Lucy picks up the gun at the end. He has a look that seems a bit fearful like he isn't 100% sure of Lucy but chooses to trust her, then when it's clear she shot her mother, there's just a twitch of sympathy and maybe respect.

"My Buds." I have no idea why but I find that line hilarious.

People often thought it strange that Betty let Norm get away with it. Now we know why. Being Hank's offspring makes him *very* valuable to Bud's Buds.

OMG, it hadn't occurred to me that when the bombs go off, part of Coop's horror may be the belief that his wife pushed the button, or at least couldn't stop the nukes from being deployed on a day when he and their daughter would be endangered. Incidentally, it's for this reason I question whether VaultTec did indeed drop the bombs, maybe the CCP learned of their plans and preempted their move. Or maybe whatever happened between Coop and Barb during the time between the last flashback in E8 and the events of E1 may have cost her some of her position within the company. For one thing, she allowed company secrets to be compromised. So maybe she couldn't stop those above her from picking a date and time that endangered her daughter.

The only issue is that the bombs weren't dropped they were placed and the vault tech bomb sitting in Megaton has always been a curious addition... just food for thought

Hanks code was the original release date of fallout 1. And Lucy thought her dad would be disappointed in her for taking vault fours fusion core. Surprise! DEATH TO MANAGEMENT! Dane best friend ever. New Vegas, that is the Strat hotel and casino, not the Space needle.

We don't actually know if Vault-Tec dropped the first bombs, or even if they truly were willing to drop the first bombs. All we know is they said they are willing to do it, in a sales meeting. It could also just be they wanted to scare these other corporations in to buying whole vaults.

In episode one, just before the first nuke goes off, you can hear a missile flying over. There would be multiple warheads on each missile explaining the multiple detonations, but I think it would take some time for each warhead to reach it's final point. On top of that, warheads are set to air burst for maximum effect. The first one, downtown came very soon after hearing the missile, and looked like it detonated on the ground. My theory is Vault-Tec knew the attacks had already started on the East Coast. To ensure maximum destruction, they set off a planted bomb in LA which happened to be at the same time as an incoming strike. Of course, it could have just been a warhead with a faulty trigger and detonated on the ground. We may find out next season, or we may never know.

@@Tijuanabill Look up "multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle" (MIRV). Most nations with nuclear capability have these, and that's exactly how they work.
