The code to start cold fusion, 101097, is the release date of the 1st Fallout game. The skull at the end is a deathclaw, once of, if not the most powerful creature in the Fallout universe. The city at the end is New Vegas, one of the most popular Fallout games.

For fun, I google mapped it and it's about 49 miles by foot to get from Malibu Pier to the Griffith Observatory. That's actually pretty far, considering it's also across a super dangerous nuclear wasteland. Granted, it's probably not quite as far if you walk there directly without keeping to exisitng roads and paths, but still.

You don't know that but the scene when she says "War .... war never changes" is so cool to the gamers because every fallout game that i know starts and ends with these words.

You might have noticed that the Black women in the background, who introduced him to Hank, was Betty. That is Vault 31 Betty. The Vaults do exists, as they said, hundreds of them. All sporting different experiments. The examples from the execs are from the games. VaultTec might out-evil the umbrella corporation ^^; Though the Brotherhood of Steel aren't that good too. Like they straight up murked everyone in that quite functional little place. If Maximus' friend hadn't thought quick on their feet, Maximus might have been offed.

This Episode managed to tie up nearly all the loose ends, and have stuff for both new viewers and fans. All the people/companies in the Boardroom meeting are in the games in some way, and all the Vault examplesthey talk about can be found in the games. And that skull and city in the end. New Vegas, that's going to be quite a ride. Excellent series, and I'm glad you enjoyed. Barb was getting orders from.....a person, in the shadows. There's more going on than meets the eye. "Someone behind the wheel" indeed.

I don't know how the main plot will evolve in the second season, but I hope for this secondary plot: Norm will be saved by Betty, who sends him away from Vault 33 to find a replacement for the water chip, he will want to be accompanied by Chet and along the way two other companions will be added: Thaddeus and the chicken-loving doctor/charlatan.

lol, but that would be a lot of fun. You're right that the malfunctioning water chip would be a great way to get Norm out of the vault and tie back to the first game.

I thought Lucy would be Jinx in the wasteland at first, but I feel like Ella and the writers have created her as a distinct character. I've tried to get generative AI to make a pic of Lucy posed like Jinx with a minigun and a Fat Man launcher though haha. I'm sure it's significant that Max says his reason for joining the Brotherhood was so he could hurt the people who hurt him. Now he knows who that was. Also, if Vault-Tec is approaching the time to open their vaults in a few decades, I think there will be a war between VaultTec and the Brotherhood, with Max leading the Brotherhood. I don't know if that will happen in the show though, it seems like the timeline would need to be moved up quite a bit for that to happen. Though maybe cold fusion being activated will force VaultTec's hand.
