I’m so happy to finally see some meta-gaming builds for this game. People barely experiment with different builds in this game which is sad as fo3 has a lot of potential that a lot of people just don’t realize. Brilliant work as always

It really doesn’t, getting a build with all SPECIAL at 10 and all Skills to 100 is pretty easy. A lot of the perks are complete throw-aways too, there’s no point in taking any perk that increases skills with the exception of Cyborg, you get 29 perks and I’d say there’s only about 35 worth taking, and that’s including spending points on an extra rank of a perk, and with how many skill books there are you can get 100 in all skills with only 4 intelligence. By level 30 you’ll always be god of everything and living in either the Chinese Stealth Suit or the Winterized T-51b.

Every character in fallout 3 ends the exact same way, 10 in every special and 100 in every skill. The game is also almost 16 years old at this point, lack of build nuance is kinda known by every player at this point in time tbh.

I did this my last playthrough of Fallout 3, except I took Jericho with me because he's hilarious. The big problem is keeping your guns' condition up. You see it in the video, too, every good big gun is made of cheese and falls apart while you fire it. Finding spares to repair with is rare, and the repair vendors in the game all suck. Sure you can go through Mothership Zeta to get some weapon repair items, but Mothership Zeta sucks. The worst is the Gatling Laser, it's so fun to use to but you get like 1000 shots and it's broken.

Yeah, the condition problem is exacerbated by the difficulty, but Moira's still pretty decent after you get the dreamcrusher perk, which isn't that hard.

@@poormansproductions2402 I remember big guns were the best late game. I usually did mele weapons because unarmed is only good if you grind for the special abilities. The DLC is good for energy, at least on fonv.

I wonder how the Rock-it-Launcher holds up on Very Hard. It's my first weapon when doing a Big Guns run, and I think you can get it easily enough in the first hour or so. Late game it falls off in effectiveness, but at least on normal difficulty I use it for a long time as a junk shotgun with effectively endless ammo - really handy when hoarding 5mm or flamer fuel.

You can kill a deathclaw with about 20 projectiles, which is not bad at all. To be honest, I forgot about it after getting the burnmaster, you could make it work if you don't find managing junk tedious.

It's really funny that in F3 guns didn't have a strenght requirement, so STR could be a ok dump Stat .Tho personnally i would still keep some for carrying weight reasons, in a non min max run. Especially since for a good chunk of the early game, if you're playing a more organic run, rather than something more challenge-esque, you'll likely be using the Rock it Launcher for a while.

You can definitely transfer some points out of agility into strength, I thought V.A.T.S. would be much better, but I only ended up using it for the "cinematic" shots.

Flamers and miniguns aren't particularly hard to use outside of VATS, and even some of the Weapons that seem like they would work well with VATS, like The Drone Cannon aren't great because of how glitchy it is, so you end up freehanding most of the time,

@@rm2569yeah, and on top of that, various weapons have a high AP Cost as well, on top of a percentage of chance for your shots to hit. Personally, I don’t really rely on it much.

Good video and very concises which is great though I'm surprised not to see Ghoul Ecology being used in this build. IIRC due to a bug the perk actually increases the damage of all attacks by a flat 5 points, which is a huge increase in DPS for automatic weapons. Still though, excellent build and easily understood.

Great build. If you get power armour training you could use the outcast armour you get in Oasis. Maybe with the fireman raider helmet or the Enclave officer cap for the flamer and Laser Gatling.

Would be nice to see what points you put on EVERY LVL Up as well as what Perks you picked. I noticed you skipped LVL 5 between 1:29 - 2:30 Do you have a list of what Points / Perks you picked from Max LVL?

Chances are it doesn't really matter if it wasn't covered in the video. It's up to you after you max you main damage-dealing skill. Moira covers repairs so medicine would probably be the next best thing.

One weapon I hate is the Chinese assault rifle. It just sounds horrible and with bullet sponge enemies it’s laborious, so am going to try big guns and see if it’s possible to go a different route with weapons. It’s a dated game like that but explosions still look good, better than fallout 4 explosions funnily enough imo.

Yes, this build isn’t feasible without the Pitt DLC, you just shred through too much 5mm ammo. You should have it if you had the GOTY edition before getting TTW. If you have TTW without the Pitt somehow, then combine the 2 builds.

My older builds usually cover things in more detail so there’s a good chance you can find an answer there . In this case, that would be defusing the bomb [25 explosives] and repairing the pipes [30 repair].
