I still haven't found Shaun.... I don't know if I ever will get around to it. What with 25 cities to run, hundreds of settlers to feed, clothe and arm, my job as a pending Brotherhood Knight to scrupulously avoid, and my Railroad secret agent missions to carry out. Seems the entire commonwealth will collapse if I stop for five minutes to do something I want! Sole survivor my ass, more like sole worker ;-)

Loving these smaller videos. It's a nice way to see a detailed explanation into how you built some of the smaller things that you normally can't justify for a let's build. However I may suggest taking these and making them into a separate series and perhaps keeping the guides for some of the unique exploits/tricks you can do to help build settlements. (Aka, rug glitch, fixing sanctuary houses, indoor wiring, power usage help, ect...)

I stumbled across this video, earlier this afternoon, whilst innocently scouring Google Images for solid watchtower designs. The sun is now setting and I'm still binge-watching and re-watching your tutorials. In addition, I fear my original project of contructing a couple of modest guard posts will no longer satisfy me. Now I'm just itching to spend the rest of my night/week refurbishing my entire settlement, instead of mustering the attention necessary to finally finish the storyline! So, thanks for that xP Also: I find your directions and demonstrations to be delightfully clear and concise. You've created a great collection of tutorials on your channel, and I appreciate it ^^

I think that the idea of tossing three linked builds per episode would be a good way to break up the site building episodes, and it would show how you built each area in little tutorial chunks for those of us who are aesthetically challenged. Side note, after watching your videos, I deleted all my old saves and restarted with a better settlement plan in mind, and spent more time on each settlement to get them just right. The rug glitch works on PC fully updated, I can attest to that since I have used it, as well as the powerline through walls glitch. It would be an excellent idea to make a build/tour video, even several for larger settlements, and then before moving on to the next one, put in all the little ideas, tips and tricks used to make it, using say sanctuary as a scale model representation area. As with all my ideas, feel free to use or ignore them as you wish. Have fun, and have a great day!

This how-to-build-a-specific-element style is a good format, and it's probably most useful to make one when (like this one) you get a lot of questions on specific things that you want to address. I'm really enjoying your method and approach. You have a very keen eye for the Wasteland style, and watching you "think" (how you scroll through the menus as you scan and decide what to put down next) is an extremely useful thing for me. On the request list: I would really enjoy a 4x or 6x time lapse of the development of an entire settlement (a small one, though, like Hangman's or Oberland or Croup) from start to finish, ideally with narration. To view your whole process, so to speak. I think that would be a fascinating video. Love your stuff. Am glad I subscribed. Cheers.

Tried to copy this the other night after seeing your sunshine tidings video and couldn't for the life of me work out how you did the shack floor between the junk fences (my tower's essentially just floating over the junk fences). Something I did with the guard post though was to leave a side of the tower clear and then place two of the half wooden floors side by side and then place the guard post on them, making it look realistic as well as more visible. Anyway, great video again.

I just stack four of the small shack floors on top of each other and move them in their place with a door mat, after that I place the turret on top of them. Also, you don't have to place the mat on top of each other. It suffices that you place them on the ground in a row, not too far a part. Then just grab the first and the rest will follow.

Great video & some excellent inspiring build ideas. I've taken your idea for the guard tower & adapted it slightly myself into a "single prefab tile" tower with a couple of little tweeks. They look excellent & add something different to my main settlement! Cheers for the inspiration & helpful build tutorial. I'm on Xbox One & haven't installed any post release patches at all, but sadly it seems (for me at least) that the rug glitch for shack walls won't work for some reason. It works for pretty much everything else (junk fences/furniture). It's a bit strange as I've attempted it numerous times with varying numbers of rugs/mats, manoeuvred around with no effect : ( With the much anticipated addition of building mods for consoles (utilising Settlement Supplies Expanded etc.) the diversity of builds are promising to be immense. I'm hoping we see a mod that allows the placement of ambient lighting, such as the oil lamps, candles & the oil drum braziers. The "place in red" mod would be extremely useful too. I love these bite-size tips & tricks videos which you're putting out. Very useful & very informative, and I'm looking forward to more great build ideas you have. Cheers 👍

Yes, the rug glitch works. Not with all objects, but if it's not working at least with junk fences you're doing it wrong. At one point I thought it wasn't working... but _I_ was doing it wrong. This is on a PC, and without actually checking I'll say I'm current with patches. I think they've only patched it like once or twice anyway, so it's not like there's a daily build you have to keep up with. Couldn't get it to work with shops, so I might just have not been doing it quite right either. And of course it doesn't work exactly like this with shack walls.

I am using chainlink and wire fencing as anti-rpg and anti-grenade defense. Funny seeing attackers throwing grenades, having them bouncing off and exploding on the ground. While your turrets blast away at them. Missiles you need to place the turret 1/2 to 1 tile back from the fencing. This is due to the missiles detonating on contact with the fencing. Still need to work out an effective counter for the fat man. As they have explosive, radiation damage and a large blast radius. I was thinking of building a square open roofed area, funnel any attackers through it. And have walkways lined with turrets, that have a clear field of fire into the square. Using some chainlink, wire fence pieces as a roof. Any enemy stupid enough to throw a grenade, fire a missile or fat man will regret it. But your turrets can happily chew through them like tissue paper.

Is there any way to make guards actually stand at their guard post? I mean, in some of my settlements they do, and in others like The Castle they *refuse* to actually man any assigned post. They just stand around in random places, or wander aimlessly. Meanwhile, I can't get anyone to actually watch the entrance!

I find xbone rug glitch doesn't hardly ever work. that being said the pricipal can apply to other resources like shack floors. I find on xbone you can stack 30 rugs atop each other and will only pick up the rugs, not the item on top. I've glitched in junk fences with shack floors, they will drop the fences down upon removal, usually. 😉
