It might be too late for you, but maybe it'll help people who struggle with Vault 88: It is key to build two doorway pieces: one for the room you're coming from and one for the room you're going to. After that, building becomes much easier and clearer. I hope it helps.

This guy ain't gonna make any tutorial on building this... You gotta do it yourself. Copied it bit by bit, It takes me 4 hours straight to get the base layout of the vault. The decoration can be applied later. It's quite cool the layout👍🏻

Did you use a mod to fix the vault lighting? I hate how the fluorescent lights only luminate a small section of a vault at a time. the default lights work way better but they don't fit the theme of the vault so they feel out of place.

Bravo. Getting the vault workshop pieces to snap together is infuriating for me. When I discovered barn and wood will snap to vault floors, I went the other direction . 😂

I've recently come back to fallout 4 after not playing it for about 2 years and I've forgotten how much fun it is to build in this game, I've built about 20 different vaults, each different from the last, I'm currently building one but I'm making changes as I go along because of new ideas I'm coming up with, this has to be one of the best vault builds I've seen but I don't get how people can build all this and not reach build capacity, I have to keep mine small and compact

Late but, transfer and drop gun glitch still works to expand build capacity on console

You can drop all the guns you carry and then you store them with build mode, pick them up from workshop and then repeat the process. It decreases your settlement build limit

And that was the day when vault 88 closed its doors till the 25th century when the secand battle between the Brotherhood of steel and the Enclave started the Sole survivors great great granddaughter and her dwellers left the vault till the enclave lost but then came a flash the Enclaves warheads from space detonated the commonwealth on March 16th 5.00 PM 2443 and she was the sole survivor like her great great grandma when she survived the blast she hid in her vault till what was the brotherhood of steel is now a small group saved her the outside might be highly radioactive but she believes that she can make a better future for the remains of the brotherhood of steel and she also believes that since the big battle ended as a stalemate she believes that she can make the world normal agian like it was 400 years ago

Lol my vault 88 consists of a giant atrium with all my stuff, and a tiny residential area with like 20 beds, a toilet and a bunch of vault posters. Settlers also get water if they are good

It all depends on how you snap each piece of the room together.

everything has to snap in place with each other, cant have a room be stand alone unless you have a generator attached

A little bit of mystery to me why bothering making bathroom out of vanilla shitty looking parts, including wooden doors, while currently having installed mods, so why don't you use a proper one (Housemaker, etc.). Btw, I've also had this issue with a wall with a railing hanging out of it - good solution for it is to use another one and try to fit it with currently placed object. Anyway, this is related to a major issue with atrium parts (prefabs and standalones), which can't often stack themselves for shit - I can very good remember times when I spent like 10 or 15 minutes trying to connect two parts of atrium ceiling (especialliy while placing one part between two other).

I used a trick that allowed you to build over the limit. I don't know if it still works but you had to drop a bunch of weapons on the ground and save them on the workbench storage thing in the build mode. Then you would grab them from the workbench inventory, drop them on the ground again and repeat.

This is nothing short of amazing. How's were you able to pack so much into the build without running out of "space"? In my other settlements I can only build so much stuff before I run out of allotted building room.

Drop a lot of wepons on the floor and go into the workshop menu. Then store all the wepons in the workshop useing the menu. The game thinks the wepons are objects so when you put them back into your workshop you get more space. TLDR, drop wepons on floor put them In the workshop useing workshop mode and ya get more space
