If you're looking for more on the Fallout world, the easy go to is learning about the Vault-Tec vaults, why they exist, and also what happened in the vaults. Make sure the video includes that last part, seen people react to videos where the video doesn't even properly explain what happened in any particular vault, which is definitely the most interesting part of the vaults to a newcomer to the Fallout world.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Some of the weapons get creative. There is one that is a modified mini-nuke launcher that was designed to shoot bowling balls. The story behind it was a small town had a rather well known and well liked individual who was popular at the bowling alley. He was sent off to war but returned needing a wheelchair. To show their respects for the guy, a few of the locals got their hands on a military grade fatman (mini-nuke launcher) and modified it to shoot custom bowling balls to give to the guy so he could still bowl even with his disability. Sadly, the bombs fell before they could give it to him as a gift but you can find it and use it for yourself, blasting enemies with limb crippling high velocity bowling balls.

The first 2 SPECIAL I usually focused on were Perception and Endurance, especially if water and food are a factor. But usually Endurance had a perk, Aquaboy/Aquagirl that removed radiation damage while swimming/in water so that was invaluble early on with not many anti-radiation equipment. Perception because you can detect enemies and landmarks at a greater distance, meaning more time to plan or prepare for an encounter rather than suddenly being shot at or attacked and not knowing where it came from

These really take me back! Like Bethany, I do appreciate using the acronym to divvy out the stats you can improve - one of the many things that makes the Fallout world just dripping with atmosphere and flavor! But, like Ken, I love my agility. Unlike Ken, though, it's mainly because I LOVE my stealth builds, and Agility is the go-to stat for sneaking around and setting up sneak attack critical hits for Fallout. Be it as a sniper or a dagger-wielding assassin - or both, for that matter - I love stalking the night and the shadows, taking out the enemy when they least expect it. And if that fails? Everyone loves a smooth talker! Charisma is easily my second favorite.
@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames2 жыл бұрын
Loved the agility video but probably not our style for gameplay. We suck at stealth 😂
@fireradfieritis89532 жыл бұрын
I personally love Intelligence due to the benefit you get from it, specifically in older games as from New Vegas and earlier, it would effect the amount of skill points you earn per level up. I follow that with Agility because stealth builds are amazing, lol.

Leonard Boyarsky (original artist behind Vault-boy) said that when he first draw him, he took inspiration from Monopoly's mascot, Rich Uncle Pennybags. Interplay/Black Isle developers called him "The skill guy" since manual and the game used him originally only demonstrate skills and abilities and players called him "Pip-boy" named after the wrist computer player character uses(where they can see all stats and skills). I can't say for sure when they started call him Vault-boy, but it was probably somewhere between Fallout 2 and 3, when he became more of Vault-tek mascot in universe.

Also, the insane thing about this game is that it takes until nearly level 300 if you want to get every point of every skill and have a 10+ rating in every *S.P.E.C.I.A.L.* stat, but even wilder, although I don’t know why anyone would try, is that you can theoretically level up to level 65535, but if you leveled up again after that, the game will crash, as that would cause the player's level to be set to 0, but the minimum player level is 1. It’s sort of analogous to the kinds of things people feared might happen with the Y2K scare - but real LOL.

Fallout takes place in a divergent world where the transistor was never invented in the 1950's and thus technological miniaturization didn't happen and the world got stuck culturally in the 1950's. The SPECIAL Videos are basically in the format of video guides to be shown to a Vault Dweller about to leave the Vault after an unspecified amount of time has passed. For instance, The Great War happened on October 23, 2077. Fallout 4 takes place in 2287. That's roughly 210 years society has gone on above ground while Vault 111 remained sealed.
