The wooden wall that comes with the base game doesn’t have a bar down the middle when you burn it and will accept items being pushed right through the middle of it, literally cutting it in half if you wanted, without it turning red (although a comment below mentions that something might have changed in that regard with the latest patch).

I can’t believe you don’t use the rug trick! If you place a Rug and then the object on top you can move them way back. I can hide the kitchen pipes easily without destroying the walls

Not sure if mentioned but with the floating roof, you just do the first roof, change to other style, than delete wall.

Love these tips ty xion! About the steps....do you have to leave a foundation somewhere within your camp or can you delete all foundations once the stairs are placed?

7:30 to completely hide the pipe you would place the stove 1st, burn it with the flamethrower, then place your wall and repair. I like using this method with the large weapon bench the other side of the wall looks like mounted acetylene tanks for working on your PA 😁

Just use a Rug under the stove… 😐 it’s less complicated

My main technique is using the pressure plate switch to merge stuff onto shelves, I've also played 76 with your before zion, doubt you'd remember but in game name is heavensdevil99, be great to see you, and would love for you to see my camps one day, I'm meticulous about them, and as sad as it sounds I take massive pride in them 😂

Theres this yellow tent that I integrated into my C.A.M.P but I want to place a bed and can't see to do so. Is there any way I can put stuff and decorate it inside?

If it's a pre-existing structure then probably not, (Or at least I don't know how). With player built tents, the large one isn't too bad, but the small ones can be a struggle. You might be able to merge something in but I've never tried so I don't know.

I know how that goes! I shudder to think how much I've forgotten about building in FO4! Starfield is going to be interesting once that drops too; a whole new building system to learn the peculiarities of, just like we had to when 76 released.

I'm not too bothered with it tbh. It's a cool idea, but the build budget is not even close to big enough to properly decorate a build that actually uses the space.

Found that the brick walls work better for building. you can also destroy one and put another brick wall opposite inside the house. Allowing wallpaper on each side.

If you use doorframes, (and switch them out afterwards), you can do it without destroying them. Saves a bit of hassle. You can do that with a coupon different sets, but the brick one is a good bet as it's a base game item.

Is there a way to attach wire to an extractor thats inside a concrete floor?

I would think there is. Plenty of people have powered extractors under foundations, though tbh I haven't done that myself. I'd guess that the wire would have to go in before the floor. If it blocks placement you could try destroying the extractor with the flamethrower trap and see if that lets you place it. The other common approach is to have some of the extractor be visible above the floor so it would either connect directly or allow you to select the exposed part when attaching the wire.

Hi Darth, I trust all is well. I'm sure you have probably covered it before, but if not, I would really like to know how to place items on shelving units of any type. It seems so stupid, that there is no easy/obvious way to place items on shelves in this game.

For that you'll have to use the merge glitch with the pressure pads, should be guides on youtube that you can search

It would be nice, but I'm guessing way more time consuming to do than it looks. I think the problem has to do with the way the collision boxes work on the object, something that is a notorious pita to work with, (look at some of the stories around Dark Souls). If my guess on how complex and fiddly it would be is even close, then they have more important things for the limited number of staff to be working on.

I keep trying to do the double shelves but the second row just refuses to set down. They’ll go a couple feet away but not directly against the first row. How are you managing that?

Hard to say without seeing it but I'd try moving to another patch of ground and moving to the edge or corner of the pressure plate. The less things there are to potentially trigger collision the easier it should be. In theory anyway.

I think I had something else in mind with the previous comment.... If snapping is toggled off you should be able to place them right up against each other. The easiest version if you want a double row is to place one row, then use two of the small end pieces to turn the corner, (with snapping on), and then run the second row along it. That would leave the shelves facing inward though. If you want the shelves facing out specifically then I'd turn off snapping and manually place them. If the collision is still causing issues you might be able to get around it by using the flamethrower trap to destroy the first set, then repair them once you have place the second row.

You can actually use a generator to fire up the flameturret without leaving the building mode.

Does building upper floor use less build space then foundation?

I would guess it's a bit less. I've not checked though. It's worth mentioning though upper floors do have to be snapped onto a staircase, so there's not a lot of options for avoiding foundations either way.

I found a guy's camp that was built completely underground using banjo chairs to glitch in and out of floors is there a way to do that or was that guy just cheating?

There are ways to use the building system to glitch underground. I wouldn't generally call it cheating but I do think it's a bit unwise. I've no idea what effect it might have on the game or what Bethesda's position on it might be so there's always the risk of them taking some kind of action on it. There's also no floor or object collision down there, (apart from what you build), so you could end up falling into the endless void. I don't know what might happen then. It could be fine... Or it might not be.

No worries! It's something people have been doing for ages. There were a few spots that were particularly popular a while back that got patched out but it's still a fairly common thing.

Unfortunately no. Depending on the spot you're building you might be able to get them pretty low, but you're always going to be left with a fair bit of foundation showing.

Yesterday i noticed that bethesda has fixed the building tricks with changing the wall type and building new items on objects destroyed with flamehrower. I was able to change the walls only to the same wall type and was unable to bulid items on the place of broken ones in order to merge them. Actually I've tried to place the kitchen in the wall as well and that was impossible at that moment:(

As far as I can tell nothing along those lines has been changed in months, if not longer. As for everything here... I recorded this yesterday so this is all working fine.
