Fallout 76 Round Treehouse Tutorial

DESCRIPTION:
Eight months ago I created my first FO76 treehouse and posted it on KZbin. There were no tutorials at the time and I was pretty new to building back then so came across a lot of issues I had to learn pretty quickly how to work around (delete order at the end was a big one). I had to work out a process using hints gleaned from the comments in ‪@jackomarafallout7664‬ Treeholme vid and using blue printing ideas from other vids by him & ‪@misterchurch666‬
Since then I've created many more treehouses, tweaked my blueprints and techniques and after receiving a lot of requests for a tutorial on how to make them, I finally feel that my method has been fine tuned enough to be able to share it with others. 😍
I hope this is clear enough to follow and recreate but if you have any questions, please just ask in the comments below. ☺️

EASIER WAY TO ADD DOORS:
Since releasing the vid, the fabulously omniscient ‪@misterchurch666‬ has offered an easier way to add the doors rather than going in later with a blueprinted wall. 😍
- when you come to 4:52 in the vid add FLAT roofs for that level that are either the original glasshouse or the green log cabin ones (other types might work but these are the two I've tried - it wont work with the black ones)
- Turn & angle the pieces so the high side faces the trunk as in the tutorial & burn. Do this all the way around and continue on as per the rest of the vid
- You can then add a door of your choice to any of the doorways at the end. 🥳

**The first treehouse I made is the large open one with the picket fencing in the intro. Getting the initial circular wall down on that one took me 2 days so don't be discouraged if it takes awhile to get it to meet up the first few times you try it. I cringe when I see it now - it's a bit higgeldy piggeldy - but was so proud of it at the time.

Very nice video! I build those all the time but not the way you do. I use a blueprint of a 8 wall round camp, that I blueprinted the 3rd storey only with catwalks on each walls and one of the catwalk has 2 pylons that reach the ground with a floor decoration. That ways I find a tree, use that blueprint and add the 2 layers of roof for the floors and the layer for the actual roof. Sometimes when you have problem with roof pieces that wouldn't clip on the walls, use the basic wood wall with a window, for some reason that specific wall allows to do things no other walls from any set can.

Brilliant! I have another friend that does something really similar. It definitely saves time and I only learned about it recently. Thanks for the tip about the wood walls with the window - I’ll definitely keep that in mind. It can be annoying that the different sets behave differently but then it can save the day other times. (Like the brick set for deleting stubborn slopey walls) 😊😍

LOL! As long as you don't lose your mind putting down the first circular half walls, it's easy peasy. (Oh - and also as long as you put the full doorways down the right way round. Wrong way and you have to delete everything below it to get rid of it - ask me how I know 😭🤣)

Awesome build and tutorial! It is really interesting to see how different builders approach building things. I would not have thought to do it this way but it is an amazing and efficient technique. I am sure this will come in handy in some of my future builds. if u dont have the alien invader catwalk and u dont like the bright white catwalk at the top of ur stairs u can burn the floor as well as the doorway and then place the stair blueprint deeper inside the tree house and then delete the catwalk so the stairs go directly to the tree house. the lil platform looks nice with the alien one but it looks like dog water with the rusty stairs and a bright white catwalk so thats what I did to get rid of it.

Aye - that’s a great idea!! I have a blue print now where the stairs can ‘hang’ off any surface and the catwalk is at the bottom and can be removed. I don’t think I knew it when I did the vid and happy to share it if you’re on psn or instagram The shelter catwalks are pretty ugly! I’d love a similar mechanism with a rope bridge skin

Great tutorial kitty (Aussie?) (cat?) (sir?)! I have had mixed results with carpets under walls blueprints (to place on foundations) maybe I wasn’t using enough. Also, that door on the top that you put a free place wall in? The reason it won’t let you put a door in it is because you started that roof off as slanted (so when you flatten it, it’s an inch higher than a flat), so it’s technically intersecting with the door you try to put in. If you start that specific roof as a flat, it might help avoid that issue! Nice work with the tutorial itself too! 😊

Thanks so much! 🤔 I use the mats under all my catwalk bp as it just easier to have them all that way than switching out and haven’t had placing problems but in fairness, most of my freehand walls are on roofs 😬 The skinny wall bp I’ve just been putting a rug under and it goes anywhere (so far) The upstairs door thing though - I knew you’d know an answer. So it’s the ‘floor’ roof causing the collision? It might be a bugger to flame it if it started as a flat......but if it was the last one I placed down...that just might work. Would take some planning on my part but it is doable.... ❤️ ....but then does that mean it would be lower than the others...... (yeah, my brain is this annoying in life too 🤣🤣) Thanks for the tips MC, really appreciate you taking the time to help 😊😊

How did you make the floating bridge at 0:09? I have been trying to find tutorials on how to do this but haven't had any luck.

Hi! All of the my bridges are made using 'floating' conduits. If you place a vertical conduit down then snap a horizontal one to it, the horizontal one will stay 'floating' when you take an away the vertical one. Hopefully that makes sense? Technically it's not difficult but does need a lot of patience to get the heights and distances right so it looks like a suspended bridge and you can walk over it without getting 'stuck'. Hope that helps x

Which anywhere door blueprint were you using? (vines or catwalk?) Which door did you have in the blue print as it also makes a difference? Did you place the rug down? If you did exactly as I did here and it didn't work, you can try changing the roof piece it is sitting on to a glass one and try that? If none of this worked, let me know and we can go from there. x

Awww - I'm so sorry that you're having trouble with following the text. I'm a visual learner so I tried to keep the writing on the screen for as long as I could as I know how frustrating it can be when it flies by too quickly but obviously forgot about aural learners 😢. I unfortunately don't have a voice over version and I've checked the settings but there doesn't seem to be the option to add them retrospectively. It's definitely something I'll keep in mind for future tutorials though. ❤ **Apologies for the slow reply but we've had family staying so I haven't been online as often**

Do you mean the walls Angel? You don't want to delete the roofs as the first set are the angled floor supports, the second set are the floors and the third set are the roof. If it's the walls, are you using the same sets I did? Let me know and we can go rom there xx

How to makw the floors not glitchy (Visual)

The floor flicker is super annoying and happens because all the roofs are the same type at the same level. You can try alternating the roof types and some sit higher than others, use the rusty corrugated ones as these don't seem to flicker or place a rug under alternate blue print walls at the start will help to alter the height of the subsequent roofs. The easiest solution is to throw down rugs :)

attempted to put a door in and followed the instructions in the description about using the green house flat tiles then changing them to the sloped version with the high side towards the tree trunk and burning them all, but it still would not allow me to place a door on any of the doorways

Also - the door you use makes a difference. The blue one or the one with the logs have worked the best for me in the past and you can swap them out later x

Hi R - How did you get on? Was it the MisterChurch advice you were following that didn't work? Also I have seen that a few of your comments have disappeared. Sometimes you need to keep a foundation somewhere in the camp area (anywhere) for walls/doors etc to be placed. It can be removed later

Hi Dillon - you may have worked it out but you need to change the roof shape (so flats to slanted) which will break the link to whatever its attached to and make it so you can delete them. Any other questions, just shout x (the foundation should just delete unless you have something attached to it)

The alien ones were available in the in game atom shop and might still be there but the Shelter Catwalk Bundle can currently be bought on the Bethesda website help section by submitting a ticket. :)

Try a blue print by placing your stairs down on a foundation, a mat on the foundation in the middle in the front of the stairs and a small catwalk on the stairs. I've just tried this and it will definitely place on a foundation or terrain. Failing that, you could try a rug down on the foundation first. What platform are you on?

Do you have a foundation anywhere in your camp area - doesn't have to be attached to anything, just on the site? If not, the wall should delete if you pop one down. Let me know how you get on 😍

@@12lettylou Put a foundation anywhere on the camp site (have it completely unattached to anything) then try and remove the wall. Walls don't like it sometimes if there isn't a foundation on the site - one of those crazy Bethesda 'features'. What platform at you on?

Unless you have the vines, it sadly can't be done as you need to be able to free place walls for this design. You can usually purchase the catwalks by submitting a ticket on the Bethesda website. On the drop down menu they're under Shelter Catwalks.

Hi Nukahs - you can get them if you go to Bethesda’s website, follow the links to the help section and submit a ticket for the fallout 76 atom shop. There will be a drop down menu and I’m pretty sure they’re on there as ‘shelter catwalks’ or something similar. Bethesda will then get back to you with the atom price and once you confirm you have enough in your atom account, they’ll process the transaction. Takes about a week but is quicker than waiting for them to come back into the shop. 😍😍

Hi ☺️ I'm hoping you can help me. I followed your tutorial just now, but when I got to the part of deleting the top half walls, I'm stuck with one left. The game is saying part of the structure wouldn't be accessible. It's still destroyed, and I put the "flooring" to the flat roof pieces and it still won't let me delete the last half wall. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Lol Thank you!!!

Hi Kimber - what platform are you on? I don't think I've had this happen before but some things to try - change the roof piece linked to it to either another type (eg glass) and give that a go or change the roof to a corner piece and try that. Alternatively, repair the stuck half wall, change it to a brick one, burn it then try and delete it. Let me know how you get on. xx

So I can’t get the sloping roofs to turn on the half walls so there facing the trunk? There is no support for them I’m not sure how that works 🧐

Strange - so you can place them but not turn them? Is this just the first level of roof pieces? Is it a collision issue if it's the first level and you're trying to get the roof pieces with the lower side nearest the tree?🤔 A weird question, but do you have a foundation piece anywhere on your camp - strangely these can help with anchoring items even if they're not connected to them. Without one, you can get 'no support' issues.

I noticed you had a small gap with the catwalks.. the angle snaps to the piece but when I try to turn it Todd says nope. I’ll let you know how I get on. Yeah nah not happening. I’m trying to get the lowest side to the trunk but there is nothing to snap it to, Is it a certain roof you’re using or have they changed the rules again? 🙄

Hi hun - sadly with this build you need the catwalks. I’ll check the help site and see if I can see them listed….they’re usually called something weird like ‘shelter catwalks’ so not listed under ‘c’

Fallout 76 has terrible base building. Fallout 4's was way better, albeit limited in customization. Still, you could build without stupid issues like "it intercepts with another object"

@@aussie_kitty_kat I followed the order but used a different build set so I made a second one using the same walls you did this time the bottom half wall I was able to delete but I don’t have those roofs so I wasn’t able to delete the top half wall
