As a Fallout fan for decades, I gotta say, this one impressed me. It has some rough edges and a few lore changes that are head scratchers (ghouls needing meds is new, but honestly, I don't hate it as a plot device), but it was fun to watch and that's more than I can say for most adaptations of franchises I like. Plus Walton Goggins is a goddamned legend in everything. Hope you like it as much as I have!

the fallout games is not typical game... the game really rewards you when you go exploring, theres building with environmental story telling, notes you find where you can start a new quest, computer terminal with old document painting a picture what happen there and many more. You spend countless hours equipping your character with weapon and skill to explore the wasteland... the thing is the game doesnt tell you to do this but the player need a sense of curiosity to learn what happen to this wasteland this is what missing from new fallout player that used to play modern games that handhold entire game... fallout games just put you in a open world where you free to go anywhere but make sure you are equip for it because everything can kill you.

Im sure others have said it. But the show doesnt directly follow any story from any of the games. It is independent but its using the same lore. Also for whatever reason even though the universe takes place in the future it is stuck in a 1950s aesthetic. Thats why the music thats used is the old style 50s music. In the games there is always a radio station that constantly plays 50s era music, and this show is using those songs. Which as a huuuuge fan of the games i absolutely adore. I started with Fallout 3 when i was only 12 and i have since always had a love for that era of music. It actually allowed me to bond with my grandma cuz she knew a lot of the songs!

Quick comment about Vaults... In the game, there aren't any interconnected vaults (that's a new thing for the show). When Lucy is leaving the vault it goes so far down just because all the vaults were deep underground (or inside mountains).

Love it! The Fallout show completely understands the atmosphere of the games. Along with all the zillions of props, pieces, sets, and background elements that Fallout fans recognize and love, the show perfectly understands the grit, violence, humor, satire, over the top propaganda, eccentric personalities and chaos of the _feel_ of Fallout. Think of it as an alternate-history version of the world with a 1950s/60s Americana vision of a sci-fi future in which the American political view of the "fear" of Communists and nuclear war set against backdrop of wildly unregulated capitalism *is dialed up to 11.* A beautifully absurdist vision, near-perfectly adapted for the screen from the Fallout series of games that first came out in the 1990s. Bethesda Games Studio and the production team alongside Jon Nolan and Lisa Joy did an insanely good job with the show, and all the performances are just _

If you play they games you'll learn a lot of lore of the world. The Fallout 4 intro explains what kind of world your seeing. The Brotherhood of Steel are former U.S. military. The Enclave are former Rich and U.S. Politicians. Many more factions. Non of them are really "good guys". Lots of technology.

The cast is great the sets are well done And what defines Fallout for me, the level of violence and the inappropriate humor, was captured perfectly. And if you know the games you know almost every vault is unique and something terrible is happening (or happened or will happen) in the background.

This is one of the of if not THE best game adaptation that I've seen. It's incredible that Lucy's actress is also the voice of Jinx, another "adaptation" that did so well. I think what helped, in Fallout's case, is that the series is only happening in the world of the games and not a direct adaptation of ONE game 😃👍 Edit: Dane is non-binary, played by a transgender man, just so that you guys don't get any hate comment about that...

I've seen 4 (and played none) and my son has seen it all (and played a few). He played the game SOME but felt impatient, as he was in high school and got irritated with the narration between play, so he'd skip it and feel lost. But we agreed it was really well done. I particularly liked that the graphic stuff wasn't particularly realistic... easier to watch. I love alternative histories (and recommend Man in the High Castle for a more realistic version of that genre)

15:58 that’s called a Stimpak, Stimpaks are basically shots filled with a mixture of healing agents, stimulants, antiseptic, blood, and steel, they’re fully capable of healing all to some physical injures (I say all to some because some injures require more than one Stimpak.) these are one of many chems, short for chemicals, you can find…these various chems include Mentats, a pre-War "party-drug" originally developed by Med-Tek, an in game company, for medical purposes, Buffout, a "sports-enhancement" drug popularized by pre-war athletes, Psycho, a combat-enhancement drug developed at the behest of General Chase, that’s something that happens post-war, Med-X, a painkiller found in many hospitals in game, and Rad-X, a preventive medication to be taken before exposure to radiation, when you take Rad-X in game it reduces the total amount of radiation you receive and bolsters your body’s own Radiation Resistance.

Good choice, the fallout series is a super well made adaption. Literally one of my favourite games of all time and ive replayed fallout 3, 4, new vegas, 10+ times, and I can say for sure this series intrigued me the entire time and was extremely well made. It would be interesting for both those who don't know anything about the games but also for those like me who played the games
