FYI : I was hit with a bug affecting health. I looked it up after recording episode 4 and found out that it was a confirmed bug, so I fixed the issue at that point. But this episode and the next have be so low health that I pretty much die if someone sneezes at me :)

Since I'm an entire puddle and continent away from Europe, these episodes typically land in my notifications while I'm still sleeping. Waking up to Gopher's experience with FOLON and several mugs of strong, black coffee is an excellent way to start the day! Oh...I do realise that in keeping with the theme I should probably be drinking tea, instead, but coffee is more my jam. ;)

@@marklamutt I can well imagine, and I'd love to do so myself on occasion. Sadly, though, since my teens, black tea (even with milk/cream) has made me feel nauseous for some reason (my British father used to joke that it was grounds for 'ex-communication' :D). Though, oddly enough, Earl Grey (if not too strong) is fine, so maybe I'll pick some up. Plus, that means I can make some Earl Grey ice cream, too (errr, not that I eat it for breakfast! :D), which is perfect for our current weather.

I'm really enjoying the episodes so far. Its also lots of fun watching Gopher geek out about British things. For him this is probably what Fallout 3 was for me when I first played it. I had been to Washington DC before with my family on vacation so it was really cool seeing all of the "Fallout" versions of things there.

I really should have gone with these guys from the start, they gave more of a plot exposition dump of the different factions in twenty seconds than I've figured out yet, and I've already completed the Thameshaven questline. You get the Balisong either way and I'm still using it, after some upgrades (which pretty much replaced both the blade and handles, so I guess it's the Balisong of Theseus now?) Guns may be more prevalent after the apocalypse, but my character is the old "int and strength" build, so I'm bringing back the good old days of Knife-crime island.

@@mara_jade021 Here's what I do: I answer the call and rescue them as normal, but then *never* go back in the Museum. They stay there the rest of the game. Aside from one line from Deacon, there is no real issue. Truthfully, the MM are my favorite faction, and I adore Preston (it's not his fault BGS saddled him with a bad implementation of radiant quests, after all) but if I am playing "good" and not going to end the game with the MM, they stay in the museum, and I simply pretend they found a place to settle north of the map and all is well.

It's tough to avoid spoilers, either way, because it's such a wide-open map. I've seen lets-plays that did things an hour in that I hadn't done in 24 hours.

@@stephenriggs8177 This is actually part of why I don't mind spoiling myself here without having even played FOLON at all. Open world games have so many variables (especially if it's Gopher 😛), that it doesn't really matter. Besides, I recently began playing Enderal for the first time ever, plus I have other things on the go, so by the time I start FOLON (waiting for a few months, so as to avoid launch bugs), the details will be, mostly, just a vague memory, anyway.

Perfect end to the episode!😂 On a side note, I want to point out that the soundtrack is beatiful and solid so far! It may just be my imagination, but I feel like I get hints of the Oblivion exploration soundtracks towards the end of the episode - which is a huge plus in my book. The track that hints at danger and/or confrontation before the little face-off with the bloodsuckers does a wonderful job of building tension as well as tugging at the fear and discomfort strings in the back of my mind. Excellent work, whoever is responsible! (I have not paid any attention to the creation process of FoLon, so I am in the dark as to whether they had to make their own OST.)

Yeah, I let too much Fallout 4 gameplay take over my instincts and stabbed the thing without thinking when I first saw it. See a feral ghoul, attack feral ghoul, right? But after I slashed it, I realised it was not hostile initially. That's when I remember that I'm not playing Fallout 4. Sorry about that, but sometimes it's harder than you think to forget what you think you know. Still not 100% sure how they are handled in FOLON, but this one was not hostile until I walked past it (or attacked it), so either it was actually blind and only detected me when i moved quickly past it, OR it was territorial. Or the game glitzed out on the AI. Hard to know after one encounter.

It's not that causing the issue. There is a bug (that I manage to fix by episode 5) where you health is way lower than it should be.

@@GophersVids Wow I had no idea that both my health and damage was bugged. Playing on very hard, the game has felt Very Hard, much more so than Fallout 4 ever did without modding it completely. I figured that was by design. :) Getting one-shot by ladybugs was, while frustrating, almost a treat! lol

There's still a point. The point is to wait until you find out which one you need first :) Imagine taking Armourer and then NOT finding an armour bench for ten hours but finding an advanced lock to pick immediately.
