@@Schizo_Rez Sure you can just disable neutral weathers too and fog remover if not using nvr. Atlas. all the NVR stuff. Drag mods will def have conflicts but shouldn't be that bad there's a streamer that uses my build with drags stuff.

About the lighting - it's NOT a wrong lighting. New vegas went with movie desert yellow. This mod compilation went with actual desert - it's hot, it's painfully sunny, it kinda washes subtlety out of colours and a lot of scenery is dictated by the dirt under your boots since same dirt will be the main actor for all the atmospheric effects.

Vanilla is also fine, dont worry about crashes, played this game on a 2060 and a 3070 a couple times without major issues. If you never played NV, I would highly suggest trying vanilla then upgrading to modded if you cant stand the older graphics

This is wonderful. Yes I did play it when it came out and it was one of my favorites. The janky animations were always a hard sell. I would LOVE to see this game fully realized in an engine like Unreal 5. What a treat that would be. Yes I know it would be a boar of a task, no need to comment that, but you know it would look and play amazing even if it was still the base game but with all the upgrades.

The discussion around issues with vanilla New Vegas are always so over-the-top and the intro here is no different. I play vanilla New Vegas all the time on PC and it's perfectly functional aside from some minor bugs and occasional performance weirdness. To say "It's just almost not worth playing the base version" is such a disdainful, incorrect thing to say about it. Let's hope the remainder of the video isn't ruined by such poor perspective.

I remember playing this game a long time ago and decided last night I was gonna buy it on Steam for 10 bucks and mod it . I suck at modding so I went with a collection of mods that has a huge instructions list like a step-by-step one. It was like 600 and some took like three hours. worth it, totally worth it. Jsawyer Edition is awesome in that it caps the level to 35 and forces you to actually "Build" a specific kind of character, rather than allowing you to become a god of the wasteland. However by the time you do like 1/3 of the game not including DLC, there isn't much character buidling after. I recommend Viscous Overhaul, with max level 40, 60% more exp for leveling up, -4 skill points to spend. This will extend out the Jsawyer mode we love, and adds some extra hardcore goodies like tweakable scarcity on food, ammo, meds, ect. to make it as hardcore as you want.

If anyone is getting into FONV using this modlist, I came across some issues with it in game. Improved Lighting Shaders was causing black flickering on my floors and turning screen blood yellow, so I had to download DXVK. It also didn't download the script extender for FONV, so I had to get that one as well. Rest has been smooth sailing.

I run it on a 3080 and i9 which is very out of league for the game and it runs perfectly. Sometimes the issue is not the game, it's the slow person trying to play it.

Another great reason for mods and why i mod new vegas is that new vegas has such an interesting and immersive world that modding the game can really enhance the experience! Heck just being able to look down and see my characters body is really cool. That being said 800 mods seem like a lot hehe i only have 231 mods and with all of those my game is completely overhauled and modernized with modern gameplay and graphics.

Personally I'm not a fan of these overalls, I feel they change too many things, and most aren't necessarily better, just different. I use the Viva New Vegas mod list and with it, I get a stable game with extended lods and a high refresh rate experience, with no stutters, texture improvements, a ton of game and engine related bugs fixes, modern mechanics with custom animations and "simple" stuff like sprint, lean, "dual render" scopes and much, much more. For me, it's the definitive way to play FNV in 2024, it's just FNV Remastered.

as someone who played fallout nv for the first time in 2024 I would say this is 10000% inaccurate. The game is very much stable and playable on modern hardware with 4-8 mods depending on if you want bugfixes as well. you do not need as huge modpack like this or viva to enjoy the game. vanilla for the first playthrough made the experience so much better Edit: Sorry its 10 mods ( UIO, JIP LN NVSE, 4gb patch, stewie tweaks, nvtf, fnv mod limit fix, onetweak, actorcause save bloat fix, engine optimizations, YUP)

Viva New Vegas does a great job at base level playability and stability. I would reccomend VNV for new and returning players. However it does take 2-4 hours to setup and install the base mods, with additional mods adding 1-2 hours before play. Still highly recommend however as the gameplay in Fallout New Vegas is exceptional (especially after 8 hours of play when you reach mid-late game).

Interesting in the divide on this one. I like both games tremendously. I was a little disappointed when NV initially came out, viewing it at a mere update from 3 that seems like it could've been completed using DLC. Dialogue and story are definitely a win on NV though, such better character depth. Playing F03 FWE now and loving it more than ever. Been playing vanilla new vegas and it's honestly better than i remembered. Arguably better than fallout 3 and fallout 4

I got the game in an epic games promotion a long time ago that was giving away Fallout 3 and New Vegas for free, but only now after watching the amazon series did I decide to give the franchise a change and honestly I've been playing the base game at 100 hours + and I didn't have many problems with crashes, minimal things. But the worst thing is that for some reason I can't add mods to the game because of the Epic Games version.
