9:10 - The classic games did not have "Radiant Quests." Those are a specific thing that Bethesda does with their games, named after the Radiant AI that controls the NPCs as they go about their daily schedules and stuff. Fallout 3 and New Vegas used the Radiant AI, but did not have Radiant Quests. Those first made their appearance in Skyrim and Fallout 4. You would think that Radiant stuff might originate from Fallout because, you know... radiation, and all. But it was Oblivion that first used Radiant AI, as far as I know. Daggerfall did have randomly-generated quests, but they were just randomly-generated quests. They didn't have the Radiant system's preference for directing you toward places you haven't been yet, or anything.

Personally i prefer the Vanilla style power armour from 3 and new vegas, because it looks more functional and simple, but i'm glad you didn't use any of those fallout 4 styled "frame" power armour mods. The frame in 4 ruined power armour for me.

Only problem with this modlist is adding gasoline as a fuel source for the Highwayman. Gasoline and other fossil fuel being basically depleted was the main reason for the bombs dropping in Fallout. Fallout 2's Highwayman used fuel cells to electrically charge the engine.

It was later reiterated in the Honest Hearts DLC via both Vault 22 dwellers being present in the Survivalists Logs & Spore Carriers being present in Zion.

8:57 "Radiant" is what Bethesda calls their system that reacts to the player's actions; it didn't exist in the Interplay games. Radiant quests are little more than the combination of a randomly chosen dungeon with a randomly chosen loot item and randomly chosen enemies. OTOH, becoming a guard for the Crimson Caravan and a prize fighter in New Reno were the goals of quests intentionally designed by humans, making them decidedly un-radiant.

The adobe buildings are super nice, and it makes perfect sense! Why is it that 200 years after the apocalypse, people are finding it somehow EASIER to make buildings out of huge chunks of sharp, jagged, rusty scrap metal, rather than out of adobe which is literally just some mixture of soil/sand/silt and dry straw!? In a place as hot and dry as the Mojave, imagine the kind of awful insulation those metal shacks have, compared to thick adobe walls that actually keep the inside cool! It also looks way more POST-post-apocalypse this way, much more believable!

if you havent played it, Fallout new california is also worth giving a playthrough, its the best DLC sized mod for nv IMO, fan made questline/worldpsace prequel to new vegas, and it does have a fair bit of that classic fallout feel to it, miles better than the frontier

I wish installation was easier, installing mods one by one is difficult and annoying to do even with the guide (does not help with your massive modlist sadly). Guess I'll just miss out.

the fun of it is to spend a week customizing the game to be a perfectly personalized experience for your taste, then play it for two hours and don't touch the game for two years 🥰

Making the Highwayman use gas is interesting, but doesn't gel with lore or how the car worked in Fallout 2. All cars in Fallout use replaceable fuel cells and refueling the car required either microfusion cells for a half charge or small energy cells for a lesser charge.

I like fallout In general all of them (except brotherhood I hate brotherhood) but I also feel like some games esthetics should be kinda kept separate, every game having different looks for creatures brings that area a certain feel personally I don't think I'll do this, I feel like fallout has it's out feel of a bleak wasteland like stalker, wasteland, and metro, with a colorful wasteland kinda like in TLOU and that one Netflix show kipo and the wonderbeast (except the playing after the end and other mods) also I just hate the og Mr. Handy, overall I love the idea of this video and maybe you could do this for the other games, probably not 3 but maybe tatics and 4

My guy, this looks FENOMENAL, this the one if not the best mod compilation I've seen, it really encapsulated the feeling of a 3d version of classic fallout games.
