As a massive gamer myself who has NOT played any Fallout before this show will be like Last of Us for me. I’ll experience the show first as my introduction into the franchise and then may go and play the games after. Excited for this! Wish it was weekly instead of binge.

I had no idea people were making a Fallout series Perri. I've never played the games but I've seen people stream them. You can watch a Fallout stream for hours and barely see anything because the games are so huge. I don't envy the people having to turn that into a linear series. Apparently they did a good job!

I watched the whole thing in one sitting last night. It was ok. The more I think about it the more I hate it. 8 hours I'll never get back

Haven't gamed in too long (big loss in my life :( ) but that review just might pull me out of my slump and back into the console. Perri, this is my first experience with your reviews -- let me say "bravo" to you. What a concise review. Your enthusiasm for your craft comes shining through and is infectious. You do a great job of filling in a lot of detail into a 5 minute review, and without speed reading, you know? I'm ready to jump right into Fallout as a result, and really appreciate the honesty about the slight dip in the back half of the show. I'd always rather be prepared and just go with it. I really enjoyed getting to see a little bit of Thailand! My husband loved the game and I'm not familiar with it, so I'm excited to see what we both think.

Just finished watching the whole series. All I will say is that anyone who has played Fallout 3, NV or 4 will love the series. Honestly, one of the best video game to on screen tv ever. Really well done!

as the one who periodically play the game, i (lowkey) kinda always imagine walter goggins everytime i see ghoul creature in fallout games. its really jawdropping for me when i know he actually casted as the ghoul 🤣

Huge Fallout fan here, can't wait. I feel it is a bit of a stretch to suggest there is still a vault in California they didn't find. But I'll allow it 😅

I've only seen the first episode. As someone who has played 3 of the games I am concerned about the lore but overall enjoyed it.

The lore is BROKEN. Making this show cannon was a huge mistake.

@@crupt1023 Seriously, it's just toddwashing all of the Interplay and Obsidian lore, once again playing to nostalgia for when Bethesda GS was a reputible god amongst game devs.

As a 48 year old lifelong gamer, and one who did NOT connect with the Halo show, Perri's review is giving me real hope. While I wish we were getting more Fallout gaming content, I'll take what I can get. Tomorrow can't get here soon enough. War...war never changes.

They did not respect the character, they did not respect the lore, they did not respect the fans, in fact they called us a bunch of racists and bigots. This is how you make a lore accurate show that's fun to watch, you respect the lore, you respect the character, you respect the fans. It's not rocket science. Plus they got Todd Howards input, at least we know why he was to busy to fix Starfield.

As someone who literally has thousands of hours invested in playing Fallout games, I was very worried about this show. Video game adaptation often don't have the best reputation for being faithful to the source material/lore. Thankfully, this show mostly hits the right notes. It feels like Fallout. It's not perfect but it was still good. I'm very much looking forward to season 2.

@@notrixamoris3318 Ya got me! I'm not a White Girl or been to Thailand... But with its Conservative Coalition Government (that wants to clamp down on recent legalization) AND the murkiness of what constitutes a 'nuisance', allowing Police to take advantage of people... I wouldn't take your advice.

It says plenty when a game adaption can bring in people who are not already fans of the IP. Big fan here and since set photos and the first trailer dropped everything looked just right in terms of tone, you can tell the people who worked on this are fans themselves. Even Amazon seems to have gone all out on marketing this thing so they are also backing this 110%. Have a safe flight back Perri.

Also haven't played Fallout and no research. Maybe some "basic" concepts but will be interesting to see if I get attached. Watched HBO's The Last of Us Show without playing the Game(s) and only caught Compilations of the Games toward the end of Season 1. KZbin suggested a "Left Behind" Compilation before that Episode dropped so I got to compare Game to Live Action and both disappointed (some actions not shown) and impressed (emotional moments that might be harder to convey via motion capture...). Similar "basic concepts" only background and I'm hooked/ready for Season 2 (and 3... of The Last of Us). Interested to see how they might change/expand the Story in Live Action... Maybe Fallout can tide me over for the long wait till its 2025(?) release...
