I believe it’s a theory that when Lucy said her vault had a weevil famine, people had to isolate. The theory is that this was all staged to keep people isolated and so they didn’t notice that Hank and Betty left the vault to go track down Lucy’s mom.
@alicea342118 күн бұрын
It's been 5 months so I don't recall entirely, but I'm not sure that's a theory so much as it is the writers explicitly telling you that's what happened. The only reason I could imagine someone would say it is a theory is because that entire section doesn't necessarily make sense, as with a lot of what the writers tell you being in direct disagreement with logical consistency throughout the series. Like the discovery of "Max's" armor as an example. Or the discovery of Dog Meat in the cooler by Coop.
@elvisibra18 күн бұрын
Yes, you are right. ("weevil" femine is what the other guy in 33 stared as why he lost to Hank) about Lucy "great plague" of 2277 when people had to isolate and PEOPLE starved. By Lucy age her flashback is 2277, thus people theorize that "plague" is fake, a cover up for when people started going out in 2277, and those who stayed out proclaimed "starved", including Rose. And that is what adds into likelyhood of Moldaver being a liar too (or don't know the truth). And ofc Max and his flashback, that by his age is set several yrs after Lucy's flashback, where problem is: how did he have time to hide from the nuke, that close to it? Did he know? Or people of Shady knew? Was it a nuke in the first place?....

The theory is that Moledaver and Lucy’s mother might have fallen in love which is why she didn’t kill her all this time. It is still not known how Moledaver was still alive. Also 200 years ago she said cold fusion was the project she was working on before Vault Tec bought her company and took it away. The code that Hank put in for the cold fusion is the release date of the first fallout game. The skull at the end is a Deathclaw which are extremely deadly monsters. We see in the meeting with the executives of the companies that many of the horrifying vaults came from them. Mr. House who we seen in the meeting is later the owner/ruler of New Vegas in Fallout: New Vegas.

As for Rose at the end, the obvious question is "Why did Moldaver keep her alive as a feral ghoul?" Maybe she just didn't have the fortitude to kill her. But I think it was part of the plan. Before she gave her speech, someone paged her pip boy and that's when she looked up at the shadowy figure, probably the person in charge of Vault-tec. The actress did an excellent job on this series, especially with her body language. And now Lucy will be walking that dark path of betrayal and knowing the life you lived was a lie. The Ghoul has been down this path and hopefully he can steer her away from the much darker aspects of it as they travel together. She cared about Rose and then allowed Rose's daughter and son to be SA/near murdered. Who rigged the electricity and lights? Why did they rig thousands of buildings when nobody populates that area? If they do, then why does the NCR have so few combatants? She led the remnants of LA's NCR to the grave to achieve her own ambition. Since Sarita Choudhury, who plays Moldaver, has said she will be back in Season Two, I theorize that Ms. Williams had her brain scanned by C.I.T. Like Nick Valentine did in Fallout 4. Later, the Institute implanted this copy into a Gen-3 synth, and being as intelligent and charismatic as she is, convinced some Institute scientists to leave with her, taking the knowledge and resources necessary to start a new synth manufacturing site somewhere in the Wasteland. I then believe she made copies of herself and sent them out with the goal of bettering the lives of the people of the Wasteland without the influence and predations of groups such as the Vault-Tec. These copies would take new names for themselves, such as Lee Moldaver, and over time develop their own personalities as they had their own unique experiences.

@@eriksand9262 gen-3 synths had become known to the general population in 2229. Furthermore, Nick Valentine had his brain scanned prior to the Great War, which subsequently was placed in the Gen-2 synth 100 years prior to FO4. As for the Institute’s destruction, I stated in my theory that the Williams synth convinced personnel to leave the Institute with her, taking with them the means to create more synths. Demystifying Vault-Tec to this degree is kinda one of the reasons I don't like this ending so much. A lot of fan theories like it was a Chinese shadow corporation pulling the strings, the Vaults were an experiment for a generational starship so that humanity could leave Earth and that never panned out, other ideas like that. I actually am not against the show saying that the NCR fell, the Brotherhood going astray overtime and the West Coast eventually devolving into complete chaos once again, because Fallout fans being Fallout fans they missed the subtext of Fallout: New Vegas, "War never changes", the Bear and the Bull being echoes of empires that already fell once before, America and Rome. Insanity is doing the same thing again and expecting different results. New Vegas tells the player many times that none of the choices for the Mojave are sustainable long-term NCR, Legion or even House. I just don't like them coming out and revealing Vault-Tec's motives the way they did and chalking it up to accelerationism... feels like a product of modern times rather than something Fallout had in mind in the 90s to solve for the biggest mystery of the franchise that may have been intended to be open to interpretation. Vault-Tec triggering the nuclear war themselves is not a new theory by any means and had always been open to possibility even poked at in games, but meh. Otherwise I'm definitely a fan of the show since I went in with very few expectations seeing that Bethesda was producing it. Either happy to see we're going to New Vegas this time around and I want to see what they choose for the games' canonical ending and what has happened since (my guess is Robert House since they went through the trouble to show him)
@alicea342119 күн бұрын
As terribly flawed as the writing in this show is, Vault-Tec's launching of the nukes first isn't confirmed solely from their discussion of it. It even seems less likely, given Barb's daughter's situation at the time they fall. With that said, the scene still causes damage to the Fallout ethos and to characters like Robert House. Their saying the NCR fell is not at all a problem, but there is no justification for it in the show. Hank nuking Shady Sands over something irrelevant and arbitrary isn't any sort of commentary on its failure. From a meta sense it appears a lazy way to prolong the generic status quo of the world as we saw with TFA. I don't think anyone would be against the fall of the NCR, as long as it makes any sort of sense in continuity.

"War never changes" is still kind of the entire point. It wasn't accelerationism. At least not when the ghoul's wife talks about it. Their entire belief is that war is inevitable so long as people differ in opinions and in society, so to make a future with no war, they need to entirely rebuild society with a controlled selection of people. It's ghoulish but also entirely believable from a bunch of corporate billionaires who will have forever to wait and are guaranteed to survive. From what I hear about the games, this also fits pretty well with what the games represent. Other responder already said this, but yeah, them being willing to drop the bombs to guarantee an investment doesn't mean that they did! Could still have been someone else beating them to the punch. In fact, it's more likely someone else did it before they had to, because if they'd done it I doubt her daughter would have been somewhere with the dad at the time. No way she would have risked her like that.

@@bulletsandbracelets4140 "corporate billionaires who will have forever to wait and are guaranteed to survive." I really wish this was the show I'd watched. The idea that it's simply inevitable and that they can ensure they and their desired way of life are safe at the time is far more believable than the "earning potential" the show presents.

@@alicea3421 that's the show I watched, so I'm not sure why you are so convinced otherwise. I really enjoyed it as a result, so I guess I'm sorry you couldn't get that same enjoyment. Maybe season 2 will hit better for you. (That is, after all, the line Bud wouldn't shut up about, lol! That time is the ultimate weapon and all that. But we'll see where it goes)

@@bulletsandbracelets4140 Very frequently I'd attempt best faith interpretation and the writers would later tell me I'm wrong in favor of something incredibly unlikely or outright contradictory. I've seen many people talk about the show not spoonfeeding, but that's quite my problem with it throughout. Many times their definitive answer is worse than logical assumptions the audience could otherwise make. Could you elaborate on the following? "From what I hear about the games, this also fits pretty well with what the games represent." Regarding "War never Changes" Are you suggesting that they are merely responding to the idea and not representing it? The line seems at odds with the person stating it, making it appear far too meta in the context it's used. The show represents as capitalistic, but as Tim Caine has also said, that's not at all what the games represent. It seems overly reductive, and for what it is, not well explored or reasoned, Edgerunners and Arcane explore these topics infinitely better. They immediately become 2 dimensional evil characters that want to perform cruel experiments, and play God. They all jump at the chance to take part in that. It's sold to them on that basis, before even suggesting that they drop the bomb themselves. There is no emphasis on survival. Where is the resistance to dropping the bombs aside from Coop, who isn't there to make an argument? No real argument is made for either side, just a sale an appeal to power. I could see an argument in favor of it being an attempt at progression of the idea, but the show does little along those lines, instead being in favor of reversion to status quo.

There were no pronoun problems in Fallout Universe, it is either a male or female, so her was right.
