To me as an avid gun enthusiast, his revolver looks heavily inspired by the Russian MTs-255. Its a 12 Gauge, revolving shotgun.

The Ghouls revolver appears to shoot something similar to the FRAG-12. Essentially a miniature fragmentation grenade.
