Lyrics: Morning breaks, the hangman wakes, hurries to the gallows Mercenary, adversary, gets orders he must follow A broken axe, his only tools, uses them with skill Practices on prideful fools, they're paying him to kill I hate you! Ice cold stare, a hungry bear, eying up his victims Sweating fear, laughing jeers, still wish that you're in prison Around your neck the noose is placed, begins to pray to God It's too late, you can't escape, the sins within your heart [Chorus] Executioner! Executioner! Words are said and you're dead, guilty with no trial And when you see a gloomy face, you walk your last mile Behind the mask, who can tell, eyes like glowing coals I look again, he's gone to hell, the hangman has no soul, ah! [Chorus] Executioner! Executioner! Executioner! Hahaha!

I don’t know if anyone noticed this or not but this “Fallout” tune sounded a lot like the “Black Sabbath” song “Into the void” at times which is not shocking as Pete Steele was a “Black Sabbath” & “Beatles” fan & with all the bands that Pete Steele played with such as “Fallout” • “Carnivore” & “Type O Negative” you can most definitely hear the big influence on a lot of the songs that Peter Steele wrote in all of his imo iconic songs 🤘

There are three or four more things that are out there regarding all four Fallout members that I know about for sure not including the work that Josh did with me regarding the New York Space Ensemble and then John Campos did several recordings with me in various incarnations of Termini bands. Also there is Original Sin's single that features John and Josh. Peter and Marc Piovanetti are on a bootleg that is floating around of rehearsals they were doing with me for a project that never came off called 'Cannibals' circa 1985.

I'm wondering, are keyboards present at all in this demo? I can't hear them. The two songs from the Fallout 7" are full of them. Did Josh came later into the game and added his keyboards after Peter composed guitar and bass parts? And why does this demo does not have any keyboards? Is there a recording in the archives with them or were they not recorded?
@rtermini
@rtermini 5 жыл бұрын
This tune was recorded without Keyboards which was a first for Fallout. I suppose Josh might have doubled on guitar live for this one .. was the idea... Josh does play a bit of guitar and could have played the chords for this live if they wanted to not add organ and or synth to this tune... at the time this was a finished demo. They had no plans of adding keyboards. They also did Bleed for Me at this time and it did have keyboards and Also John and Josh did a Keyboard and Guitar piece, just themselves with Lou and Peter ... Josh playing orchestral parts on my Chamberlin. These were the last sessions for them. They Broke up about one month after this was recorded. The rest is history.

How was his voice so different from the singing voice he had later in his life? This feels like an entirely different voice, it’s higher and less throaty (?) was it him singing? It wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t do the vocals
@rtermini
@rtermini 9 ай бұрын
It is Peter for sure. Here is the story. Peter was experimenting with his voice... remember he was young and he was very creative... so it was not unusual for him to go into character voices... and he was still trying to find what he could do with his voice. Point is after Fallout he began working on THAT voice for Carnivore... it it was with Carnivore that he developed that more consistently darker tone as part of the character he gave himself as a role in Carnivore ... the survivor of an apocalyptic future war... A topic he first put into song with Batteries Not Included.... this... about 5 years BEFORE the film The Terminator... Pete wrote that about 1979.... we recorded it in 1979 and then again in 1980 with Fallout. So by the time he came to create Type O Negative... he had a lot of years of singing and trying different voices... thus... he landed on a set of voices that he liked for his role in Type O. I hope this answers your question.
