Apparently Walton Goggins suggested that idea to the showrunners. He wanted to establish The Ghoul as a ruthless character, but also a man of principle. For example, he’ll show no mercy to his enemies, but he wouldn’t steal from a store.

Before we knew much if the fallout show I thought Lucy was gonna exit the vault as a sole survivor, and the Ghoul was gonna be some dope gubslunging sheriff and Maximus was gonna be a hardcore BoS knight. Not what we got but it's better and funnier because of it.

It's not in any of the games but it is a real gun (just heavily modified). It's a 20 gauge revolver shotgun that's been sawed off into a revolver and fires custom made projectiles using reusable 20 gauge brass shells. I can't recall the exact model but if you type 20 gauge revolver shotgun into Google images you can find a picture of the exact gun that they modified into the Ghoul's pistol.

The Ghoul’s gun looks awfully a lot like what The Vault Dweller had on his hip holster when we see him walk away from Vault 13 at the end of Fallout 1. I believe that gun The Ghoul is using that’s capable of blowing off so much from someone, as did VD’s pistol was able to with what we can see of him killing V13’s Overseer if you do the Bloody Mess ending, is the same gun that once belonged to that legend of the wasteland.

The show was good overall, but I don't know why they made Ghouls these superhumans. In the games they're just as fragile as everyone else, a few bullets will take one down. Instead the show made them into these borderline Spartan supersoldiers for no reason.

Depends on the Ghoul I suppose. This guy represents a max level character and max level weapons + he has the ghouls natural/unnatural healing abilities so ofc he’s going to be OP in lower level areas like this one. In season 2 let’s see how he does against Death Claws and Super Mutants.

And they made up some "flaw" in the power armor just to make it happen. I dunno, like I said I thought the show was good overall, but I don't know why they made this char so OP.
