I think its awesome that a parent would be so proud of there child to blast his music and tie up traffic in midtown manhattan. that is awesome

@@babsgalv6556 heh yea I used to see all the music videos from the 80's with michale jackson and this and all those movies I thought breaking out into a dance in the street was a common thing but I was very young but it was common back then, now though you might get people dancing at a park during a festival or in small groups or at a geek convention like anime central on saturday of that can because its around chicago you still have lots of people that dj and small group partys breaking out all over the hyette where the main con events are, and in the park by the convention center and sometimes in the hallways of the hotels its a jamming time, even I and you can imagine I am no spring chicken anymore that does hiphop still from when I learned it in my late teen years around the turn of the millenium still do popping I am prob the last one of the group that does it for those that didnot become professional performers, I think coda, poppula, and pringlz still dance and perform but its been a spell since seeing any of them, and by pringlz yes I mean from the venus fly trap krew she lived in the area for several years was one of my teachers

As much as this scene makes me laugh and smile, it still moves me, even to the point of tears. Bruno's dad firmly believes in his son's talent and loves him that much to even blast his music out in the streets, not caring at all what people will think of it. Reminds me of *my* dad. Thanks so much for sharing it:) RIP Irene Cara and Eddie Barth

i wish more young people knew about this now. this movie is dark, gritty, raw, and not sanitized as to what adolescence is. and it is WAY better than glee or smash or that high school musical crap.

Fame is awesome! I heard that in this actual scene, the actors were dancing to Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" and not the theme song "Fame" during production. Wow. lol

2:24 on after Bruno's dad starts fighting and the cameras pan out until the end of the sequence. Some of the greatest footage ever put on film. Goose bumps every time. Happy 40th anniversary Laguardia (really from a Fame standpoint)! RIP Alan Parker!

And this event produced the biggest traffic jam ever in USA. 36 years later something similar happened in LA when a huge crowd started to dance and sing in the middle of the highway because it was another day of sun…

i think the 2009 version is better, because it was studio recorded so you listen to the song and not "BRUNO! BRUNO!", that kinda ruins it for me...also the 2009 version is clearer, it's just an overall great remake!
