Families of Michigan shooting victims read impact statements at Crumbleys' sentencing

Parents and loved ones of the four students killed in the 2021 shooting at Oxford High School read statements detailing their pain and loss ahead of the sentencing for the shooter's parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley. They were each convicted of involuntary manslaughter for their roles in the shooting that their son carried out.

You as a gun owner have a responsibility to keep your gun in your control. The Crumbley's thought Ethan mentally fit enough to have access to the gun. Due to them making this uneducated assertion, 4 children died and the lives of hundreds were permanently altered. 15 years is not that long considering their actions directly led to the horrific deaths of 4 children.

@@BobJones-pg9zy You will find that this case belongs where it always has been until now... In a Civil lawsuit, not criminal. The criminal law just recently changed, however I just listened to a prosecutor who stated Civil Court is where this should have stayed. I agree.

They were just parents. In my opinion these sentences are by much overcharging the parents. With full respect for the precious lives of the kids and families, The Crumbleys are victims too. What about the school ? Should society be also responsible for a menthal unhealthy child ? Neighbougrs, School authorities? Aunts , grand parents ...This a case to think about without a doubt

Crumbleys are no victims, if there's any Crumbley that's even remotely of a victim it's Ethan, and I only say that because Jennifer and James Crumbley monumentally failed to get the psychological help their son desperately needed. They are not victims!

They intentionally bought a gun for someone with a history of mental issues. They didn't lock it up, and they didn't take the school seriously when they said there was an issue. They should have also been charged with child neglect.

So parents are sent to prison but the gun manufacturers go there merry way what a corrupt judge and system how horrible let big business off the hook and go after some parents that were a little slack
