Jennifer and James Crumbley learned their fate. Their son Ethan Crumbley murdered four students and wounded seven others at a high school in 2021. They bought him the gun he used in the shooting and failed to secure it. James Crumbley was in tears as he addressed the families of the victims. The parents were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. It's the first time in history that the parents of a mass shooter were held criminally responsible for their son's crimes.

They chose to ignore it. They chose to get a gun for him. And they chose not to secure the gun in that case. Period. It’s the parent’s fault for this whole ordeal that happened. And how many times has Ethan told his parents that something was wrong with him. So I don’t ever want to hear from Mr or Mrs. Crumbley that they were good parents to Ethan. Ever. Karma served to Ethan’s parents. Madison’s mom was right. Ethan’s parents run away like cowards while she and the parents of the other victims who were killed had to endure the worse

This is the most absurd ruling, like the parents or not. If you lived in the state this ruling went down, good luck if you have any kid who either directly or indirectly end up causing harm to anyone.. Accidental or not. This outcome will be used in future cases where innocent parents will get dragged through the courts because here you have an example case made and executed. This is not justice, no one proved without a doubt that the parents directly were involved in the mass shooting.. It is really like the actual laws in the USA is completely thrown out these days in court and the judge is just winging it based on feelings and not common sense actual law.

Lesson for parents, like James and Jennifer: 1. Do not have children. 2. If you DO have children you MUST raise the in a suppotive nurturing home. 3. If your child has mental health issues do not ignore them. 4. Practicing shooting-to-kill IS NOT wholesome family recreation. 5. Buying a military-grade weapon for your mentally deranged child as a Christmas gift may not be such a good idea. 6. Storing a loaded weapon in an unsecured location IS NOT responsible parenting. 7. If school personnel advise you to remove your child and take him for professional help, do not say "I'm too busy with work." 8. If you find out that the law is after you, do not flee 50 miles away and attempt to hide out in a warehouse. 9. Do not claim in court that "the system is to blame."

My Dad worked 2 jobs and my Mom one. They took me to church every Sunday. We had 5 kids. They couldn't watch me all the time. So if I snuck out at age 16 or 17 at midnight, took the family car, got drunk and then killed someone as a drunk driver it's my parents fault? Get real Dude. This is the strangest sentencing. There has been hundreds if not thousands of similar cases before with parents not charged after their kid did a mass shooting. How do the judge square this up against the previous mass shooting cases similar to this where no parents faced any charges ? Seems the law can be interpreted just about any way as long as someone wants a conviction. You dont have to think these people were good parents but at the end charging them with murder along with their kid where there is no direct evidence such as them orchestrating/planning/assisting the mass shooting is absurd. Why did the judge stop at the parents ? If he could charge the parents as culpable then why not charge the gun seller also ? Why even stop there, go all the way to the gun manufacturer. This is beyond stupid but hey MERICA right.

did you even watch the trial? They bought their minor mentally unstable son, who told them he was seeing demons and was unstable, a gun on his birthday to shut him up because they couldn't be bothered to be real parents. He used that gun to kill his classmates and his mom texted him "don't get caught" that same day. That is accessory to murder and extreme negligence...the victims' blood is on their hands just as much as the shooter's.
