If someone asks me for money, I turn around and tell them to be at my house around 10am. I have some job that needs to be done,. The rate is $10 hrs. Thay never show up. That's how I get rid of them.

I transferred $100 into my niece's account to help with her electricity because she asked for assistance and she was a student. I later discovered on facebook she went to a concert. It doesn't take a genius to know what she has been up to . Again Never ever again. Helping family and friends is ok - for example they need a lift home or they need a little bit to help with the rent. BUT if they abuse the boundaries of family, then NO it is not alright to help family and friends; it just show how little they respect the relationships of family and friends.

stop throwing money, problem never goes away. as long as you are available to help them they will keep coming back, by the end of the end you will have spent over $3,000 to $6,000 a year. that's your hard earned money. you get nothing in return. will you be willing to do that next 20 years giving away that much?

What David failed to understand in this situation is that some people do not understand and do not want to learn financial responsibility. You can teach them constantly and they still don’t get it and are always broke.

when you lend money, ask for the dollar amount in collateral, furniture, lawn tools, whatever. keep those items until your money is returned, if you're not paid back you chose items you find useful. this will also encourage them to pay you back so that they can get their stuff back. it's fair.

The best way to avoid family & friends from asking you for money is, always complaining about being broke & always paying your bills late. Your sick & tired of paying late fees all the time which is a big RIP off. Complain, complain, complain!!! Even if it's all lies, works for me. No one ever ask me for money🤑

@sensimania Just ignore the calls. Delete all your social media, start a new one with fake name and information. Just stay away. The way I did mine, I said " you still owe me from last time, can't help you." I keep bringing that up and now they know I mean business 💯. Never heard them asking for money again. Sure I see them on holidays once a yr, they never ask and unfortunately I never got my money back. I'm out 200 dollars over the length of 8 months they been asking for a small amount of money. I kept track of my money and set a limit. Keep this up and you'll be making about 300 a yr from me. Hell no. This bank is closed. If they ever ask, I'll point then to a app they can borrow the money or quick loans they can vist. They will pay back the loans they owe but when it comes to family " later later, someday, that was long time ago"

Like you Dave however.... Hope you read these comments. THE Diapers. They will take the diapers back to Walmart and get money back. SO rip the box apart throw it in the trash and bag the diapers in a plastic bag and deliver them. Next before plastic what they use???? They cloth diapers. So get them a diaper hamper. Then get them 60 cloth diapers and Bobby pins. I'm am exhausted these people asking for money. I saw this guy go to work everyday pulling his lunch cart on wheels behind him. He used to be a breakman on a train he fell an train cutoff his legs below the knees. I watched him pull his lunch cart over gravel on wheels with metal leg extensions. He was a welder for Cobb Mechanical out of Denver. One time I offered to pull his lunch box he was offended. That's a real man. I'm tired of these people asking for money. Almost everytime I pull off a interstate ramp they are their with the cardboard signs. They are hustling you at gas stations, walking up to you in parking lots. I pulled up to Philly cheesesteak shop 20 feet from the door, someone asking money for food. This is America get a rake and earn money raking leaves.

She undoubtedly knows the system and is on every sort of government aid that she qualifies for. While that is not a lot of money, it is enough to live on if properly managed. We have a church program for single mothers. THere are classes on money management, healthy eating, cooking on a budget, etc. with child care provided, each young woman is assigned to an "encourager," and it is ultimately a 2 year program. Almost every woman has ended the program with a reasonable job, off welfare or a part time job plus community college and working toward that "real" career. It is really the "one on one" accountability that works. And one big rule is that while "gifts" may be given, cash may not.

No Dave money is fungible. If you buy someone "diapers" they don"t have to spend money on diapers. So they have money to spend on cigarettes. It's as simple as that.

A permanent solution to diapers, cloth diapers. I agree with Dave, if you want to help, don't give money, give a grocery gift card. If she is posting on FV pics of her with cigarettes and liquor, it sounds like she doesn't want help, she wants a handout.

Sadly this guy isn’t interested in helping. He won’t pay for financial peace university if he considered $35 for diapers as a loan. Loaning money never works. It only creates discord and resentment. Help if you’re going to help. The person needs to make a change on their own. But don’t expect anything back from someone who quite obviously is struggling.
