Im a licensed funeral director and embalmer and I can tell you that if there is no surviving spouse the child or children of the deceased are the legal next of kin not siblings. The directors at that funeral home should know this. The son has a valid complaint with the Michigan State Board of funeral directors.

When all this first started the sister claimed they sit down with the son to make arrangements and they all agreed! I’m sure moon just through just like any other normal funeral. Moon couldn’t just release the body for all that they have did to prep the body. And by law moon can still charge for prep and storage of the body. Until a court order is determined

I'm willing to bet that May's family has always used this funeral home, and that's why they are going on like that. My aunts and uncles had the audacity to have one of my uncles call my mother, complaining about the fact that my dad was going to be cremated. They wanted him buried in Detroit - a place that he hated and barely visited once he left. That's because that was his birthplace, and most of his siblings were still living there. My dad wanted to be cremated. My mother told them that if they wanted him buried, they'd have to pay for whatever expenses that my dad's life insurance policy didn't cover. She knew how to get rid of them. That stopped the calls.

I enjoyed Eric Mays❤. I listened to council meetings like I was a Flint resident. It’s truly upsetting to treat a rightful heir this way. Siblings cannot step on the toes of a child. Also in doing so are holding up burial. That’s just sick.

It happens all the time in our black families. People whom wouldn't even come and visit, call, check on you when you were alive yet want all entitlement when you pass away. His son should in fact be the sole overseer of his final arrangements. This is why it's so important for you to have an Advance Directives, living will, a proxy, healthcare surrogate anything that would prevent issues like this from happening.
